Yanks on the other hand..

Lol- and you end up with a clown like Varadkar who got elected Taoiseach having received a grand total of 8000 FPV in 2020

Great system alright
While I didn't love Varadkar, I think your clutching at straws there trying to compare him to Trump. The voting system is the voting system. Trump is a scourge on this planet.

I'm not clutching at anything

As much as people in Ireland hate Trump-the reality is that 77,000,000 people (who live here) went into a polling booth and actually voted for him

They had a binary choice-Trump or Harris-and 77,000,000 of them choose Trump
We know this. That's what us Irish people find so completely crazy. It's a mess of a country at the minute.

The point I'm making (which most of you are missing) is that's it's nowhere near as crazy as you all think when the alternative is even worse

Stephen A Smith on Bill Maher said that the Democrats are so extreme they actually make Trump look normal

Quote from: maigheo on March 11, 2025, 01:14:52 AMYou can bang on about the evil Dems all you want but there is no country on earth that a person like Donald Trump should be elected president. It always seems that you are always trying to justify your support for Trump so you are going the Fox News route by vilifying the Dems and portraying the Lying King as a man of strength.

For 77 Million people who live here who have had it with the Democrats Trump was a better option

Stephen A Smith (look him up if you don't know who he is) said that the Democrats outrageous behavior make Trump look normal

Here's a clip from him speaking just last week

You haven't addressed the point made that the Republican party didn't have to choose Trump.

They didn't have to and they shouldn't have

He's a disgrace

After January 6th he should have been banned from ever running again

And if the Democrats had put any type of a competent candidate up he'd have been defeated in an historic landslide and we'd never have heard of him again

But they didn't. They put up an unelectable clown clown who picked an even bigger clown as her running mate

So yes-be mad as hell at the Republicans for selecting him in the primary. But the election is decided by the swing voters in the swing states and THEY thought he was a better option than Harris

Quote from: J70 on March 11, 2025, 12:36:07 AMI don't give a bollocks how bad Harris was as a candidate (and I think she did ok, not great, but ok, given the hand she was dealt by Biden, his deluded campaign team and the cowards in Democratic leadership).

The GOP chose Trump. They had options who would also have won and more then delivered on immigration and quite possibly have given us relatively sane economic and trade policy. That the necessary sliver of the electorate on top of the GOP was then either hoodwinked, oblivious or thought that the leopards wouldn't touch them does not excuse that it's the bigoted personality cult foisting this basket case back onto the world.

So the Democrats tried to pull the biggest con job of all time and foist a senile octogenarian onto us, who was then probably going to step down once re-elected and hand the reins over to Kamala.....the Senator with the most radical leftist record in the country....good job George Clooney figured out what was going on.

And it back all backfired and they got caught out and now here we are

I'm just offering an alternative viewpoint to the viewpoints shared by 99% of the posters on here

It's like when I'm in Ireland speaking to people can't believe how anyone would ever vote for Trump in a million years. They really have no idea how bad the Democrats are

And right they are for their incredulity.

But yeah, it's all the Dems fault that the formerly Grand Old Party has been the Donald J Trump personality cult for ten years.

It's all the Dems fault for putting forward a candidate who was so bad that 77M voters thought Trump was a better option

And if you mention misogyny or racism as an excuse for her losing, let me remind you of how much support she got from the Democratic base during the primary in 2020.....zero. She was terrible then and even worse in 2024

(I had forgotten that at one point she was even open to allowing the Boston Marathon bomber to vote from prison)

Interesting take from Van Jones on the Democrats

"And then offending most people in the country, calling everybody sexist and racist and transphobic and every other name, and then saying, 'please follow us,'" he added.

"That's not a good strategy, folks."

4 years of Biden/Harris made Trump seem like an attractive or viable alternative to 77M people

This election wasn't a fluke like 2016

People knew what they were voting for
He won every swing state
He won the popular vote
Something like 90% of counties swung towards Trump
His share of the vote increased in almost every demographic
He won places Republicans hadn't won in decades
He won the Senate and the House

Did you ever ask yourselves why?

Elections are as much about what you're voting AGAINST as they are what you're voting FOR.

All this anger at Trump and his minions

Where was the anger at the open border

Where was the anger at rapists/murderers being shielded from deportation

Where was the anger at (bankrupt) cities spending hundreds of millions (billions) of their taxpayers money on people who were in the country illegally

But when the Democrats default position is to essentially tell half the country that they're stupid racists and STFU...we know better......don't be shocked when it's turned back on you

Well everything that's happening today is just a reaction to what transpired over the past 4 years

All those with their hair on fire about Homan-why didn't they kick up a stink when Joe and Kamala left the border wide open for the first 3 of their 4 years?

Why didn't they hold marches and sue sanctuary cities/states for harboring violent criminal illegals and not handing them over to ICE

Nothing happens in a vacuum

And nothing that's happening today should be a surprise to anyone. Think about it: he campaigned on these policies

Voters knew what he was going to do-its not like his first term when people were surprised

That's how badly the Democrats fvcked things up. That's how out of touch they were with regular people-that a second Trump presidency was more appealing to 77 Million people than four more years of Joe and Kamala

If you are mad at Trump you should be equally as mad at the Democrats for allowing this to happen

Quote from: J70 on March 08, 2025, 06:30:54 PMPatel the conspiracy theorist supreme? 😄

Who the f**k would believe a single word that moronic dirtbag would say?

But tell us whitey- what was Adam Schiff REALLY up to?

You were on tenterhooks for several years waiting on the Durham investigation.

Schiff is the  biggest fvckin liar who ever walked

The Democrats should have kicked him out of the party never mind elevating him to the senate

All the lies the Democrats (and the media repeated) told about "Collusion" and the "Laptop" have now led to a situation where vast swaths of the voting public have zero trust in the media-

And as for Durham-yes-I thought hed nail them. But these guys are career FBI/DOJ professionals. They're Ivy League educated  attorneys (advised by armies of Ivy League
Educated attorneys). They knew the system and got away Scott free

But I don't know why you're celebrating that....that was the exact type of fvckin bvllshit that led to Trump getting re-elected.

No one was held to account and people were and are furious.

Sussman walking away Scott free was really good for Trump

One chap on here (guess who) had himself convinced Trump had surrounded himself with smart and non yes people this time.

I never said that he had surrounded himself with non yes people

And compared to the last time-100% he has surrounded himself with smart people

Can you break it down for us. Who does he have in key positions this time vs last time and why are they 'smarter'?

The two most important ones are Musk and Pam Bondi

He has an FBI director who has his back and is going to expose what the Democrats  such as Schiff were really up to
