It's 2023 people and this shit is still going on;

It's not even that it's still going on, it's that two men in their mid 30s decided to target 3 fellas half their age and kick and punch them on the ground. A bit like the bouncer in the Port, yella c***ts.

I despair for this place. Hating someone for their religion and prepared to carry out gbh or worse. Are we at all suprised though?
When you have politicians like Sammy Wilson willing to spout stuff like https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/mp-sammy-wilson-suggests-john-herron-may-be-better-suited-to-gaa-if-he-wants-to-continue-to-glorify-terrorism-3816043

Or Ben lowry crying about students wearing Gaa jerseys in Queens a few years ago.

Speaking of snow there is serious snow in the Sierras in California, 19 metres in some spots.

Should have gave him a good belt of a hurl.
Some mouthpiece with a few pints in him no doubt. The same boy wouldn't have said it directly to Chin.

Yeah usual story. Joke that the clown is going on like that in this day and age.

Lee Chin is infinitely more of a Gael than any neanderthal gobshite that gets on like that. Not fit to lick his boots, never mind lace them.

Unfortunately this is a lot more common than people think, Jemar Hall gets a serious hard time from Armagh fans and there are racial undertones to it. He might not be the greatest county player out there but he is judged differently that other Armagh players.
You might not hear it in the grounds as the hard men haven't the balls to say it there but I have heard it plenty in the pubs of South Armagh.

Hopefully the GAA do something about this person.

Needs banned for life.

Nobody gets banned for life in the GAA.

Time to start, perhaps. But a ban for 10 years might suffice.

Just throwing something out here.

I was a poor footballer, so nobody was going to gain an advantage with mind games etc on me; I was already beaten. But I did play for a long time.

During that time I was called:

A fat ****
A useless ****
A stupid ****
A retard
A spastic
A Ballyholland ****
A Newry ****
A Down ****
A wobbly headed ****

And so on.

And some by teammates

In the cold light of day any of those is a pretty shocking thing to hear. But never once did it make me stop and think, when playing.

People call each c***ts when playing sport.

I'm not defending racism. Never will.

But is it possible at all to have reasonable discussion that players (and fans) just mumble and shout without thinking... and that it's not racially motivated so much as noise?

I'm sure I've posted roughly this line before, but what essentially is the difference between calling someone a ginger **** and calling someone a Chinese ****?

I'd argue nothing... on most occasions.
