Forget about the rugby tackle. How does he get away with cheating every time he does that shimmy. He takes at least 8 steps every time he does  it but none of the pundits or refs have picked up on it. He's a great player and exciting to watch but he wouldn't be half as good if he was restricted to playing within the rules like other players.

time ticking away

More importantly he wouldn't be half as good if he wasn't so good
canavan is the man canavan is the man ee aye adi ooh.......

That was never a square ball!!

Fair enough topic for discussion/thread when he's being hailed as one of the greatest gaelic footballer. The point about the steps is worth looking at too.

He's got the skill, brain and his ends justify his means.

AH FFS...........this is taking the biscuit now, the lads an amateur gael, and a great player, let him be ffs ....................

Never thought I'd say this but feel Seanie Kav is getting unfairly singled out after the weekend. He did what any player frm any county in a tight knockout game would have done, and as for the shimmy...don't be silly.

You can forget about joe brolly as a man if he doesn't apologise to sean cavanagh. 120 plus players played in the ai quarter finals at the weekend and one got singled out. Something stinks about that.

Great footballer. Dives a bit much mind you.

Wildweasel74

G a few lads standing up for Cav and the way he went about his foul, and basically trying to justify it with that great DUP stance whattboutery to defend some of these activities! when 80% of this board went to town on another GAA player,Seanie johnston when he transferred to Kildare. Morally wrong transfer, against the ethos of the gaa, and alot of personally venom went this way that it was one of the few threads to get 100pages, he acted within the rulebook and got half slaughtered, so how come we can defend 1 gaa man no problem but not another?

Weasel it took sean cavanagh a manner of seconds to decide to make that tackle. Johnston made a calculated decision to leave club and county.

Seconds versus months and or years.

Cavanagh did it for the good of his team because he wanted him and them to win. Johnston only had one person on his mind.

Not nearly comparable.

Tony Baloney

If there were trophies for play-acting he'd have a few of those too.
