Longford Slashers RIP. I though they were to dominate Longford football for the next 5 years!!

Our game was postponed due to the death of Mrs Hussey.

It's on tomorrow evening but no sane person would predict anything other than a Killoe win so we're facing Abbey in the QFs.

Killoe v Dromard
Colmcille v Granard
Mullinalaghta v Carrickedmond
Abbeylara v Mostrim

I see Killoe and Columbas having handy wins
Colmcille will have too much for Granard
We should scrape by Abbey but no money would be safe

They lost Barry Gilleran to injury and never recovered.
Dermot Brady is also nearly in his 40s.

Slashers were relying too much on these 2 lads as far as I hear.

Big blow to a small club like that.

They should have had enough for Carrickedmond though. I heard complaints that the number of matches in a short space of time had affected them but it's a factor that's affecting everyone. I suspect it may have been a case of thinking too much about the next match; much as what happened to us when we played Slashers, ironically enough.

The championship matches thick and fast are going to be a problem for everyone, I'd have thought.  They may have been unlucky with injuries.

Dermot Brady must be in his mid 40s; he wasn't that much younger than Gavin.

I expect to keep my predictions coming.

Dromard to hammer us in the QF.

Dream final on the cards. Mostrim v Columbas  :)

Comcille could well reach the final. They will be confident adout your way Billy.

They'll be saying Granard and Mostrim/Dromard should be handy enough.

I noticed that behind the Slashers there is a peleton of achievers with at least 10 titles. Surely Columbas will be aiming to get close to that target with this team.
