Some day the reality will hit home to invest the big doe in the youth structure and forget about these big names until we have a team that can compete

totally agree

Quote from: Hectic on April 29, 2026, 08:28:21 AMShould take advantage of the hurlers implosion and call up Molloy, Elliot and Cunning.
That would be so Antrim, fellas that committed to the small ball should turn up and get game time in the TC before lads that shouldered to this point playing football, just because things have went belly up with the hurlers, especially after they'd have been asked to if theyd commit to the football at the start off Dorans tenure

Is the formatt of the competition like traditional championship football (one and done) or is there other rounds/ backdoor options?

Basically a backdoor until the quarters. Exact format as Derry senior last year.
Carlow away won't be easy, will the county men be allowed to play tomorrow night, have any players walked, any new call ups

Tailteann cup is our level but it'll be interesting to see what players hang about for it,4 or 5 club games before that I assume

The double jobbing is a rod just to beat MD with,Gavin Devlin doing the same with Louth and Magherafelt and its not a problem there, only for Meath pipping them late on they'd be in the mix for promotion to div 1

Nearly sure Cargin have an O Cahan cup game at home at 2pm Sunday as well, could be wrong, typical Antrim running games at the same time the County seniors are playing,I know its a south west competition, but how are people going to see both if they wanted

NatSoSaff Mc Quillan eats the ball anytime he gets it,not a team player and as for Cathal Hynds he's not good enough for county level, must've gave away 4/5 frees within 10 mins off coming on against Donegal,as for P Mc Bride throwing out the baby with the bath water,no big loss, not a team player either

Quote from: UpTheSaffs17 on January 07, 2026, 01:38:59 PMI've seen them during their two games vs Cargin and Dunloy also against my own club in the league and thought if that's the potential that is in that group they are a good side. They also finished 4th i think two seasons ago so obviously something there. Could of also picked out Glenravel as a side i have a high regard for to if that sounds better.

Whitehill must have done a number on your club if there in your bad books.

Just an opinion at the end of the day

Yes two decent moral victories vs two of the best teams in Antrim. They also lost to St Johns and had to go into the playoffs. League means nothing. Ballymena in a final and finished 0 points in a championship group
And Baker still filling the pockets 😃😃

Quote from: Ryan O on December 08, 2025, 05:18:42 PMIf Glenullin were from any other county they wouldn't be in Intermediate football its no real surprise they are winning it. They've won 3 out of the last four, realistically they are a senior team playing in a level below what they should be at.

Yes it brings success and good luck to them but it does diminish the competition for actual Intermediate teams in Ulster. I believe they opted to enter Intermediate level?
Whats to stop other clubs on bottom half of senior league just entering it and trying to steam roll some success. Have Glenullin or Ballinderry or Faughanvale improved the most this year, only time will tell.
They certainly did not opt to play intermediate, in 2022 when they won their first title, Derry had started restructuring from 16 teams at senior down to croke park's recommended 12 teams, two teams were relegated from senior and no team was promoted. In 2023 when they won their second (extra time victories in both semi and final) the restructuring continued and two more teams were relegated and nobody was promoted - if memory serves me, paddy Bradley their manager was very public in his disgust at the non promotion. And as others have said, last year, following a vote by the clubs to move back to 16 teams at senior, they lost in the quarter finals when all 4 semi-finalists were to be promoted.
welcome to the board Paddy

TNN - Toal
Portglenone - mattie mcgleenan
St Brids - Cahal Murray Gerard McNulty
St Galls - Terry?
St Johns - Paddy Nugent

Aghagallon -
Ballymena - Baker?
Glenravel -
Aldergrove - John Rafferty
Ahoghill -
Glenavy -
Antrim -
Lisburn -
Endas -
Davitts -

I would assume Dunloy, Moneyglass and Sarsfields management will all be staying on after successful seasons?
Is Pete McGrath still in charge at Aghagallon?

Aghagallon have posted that Kevin McKernan and Dessie Marshall are their new managers.
Apparently Gavin Devlin looking Murty O Brien in along side him with Magherafelt with his management team, also wee Gerard Mc was telling me that Creggan had asked him so I'd assume Cassidy isn't in with kickhams,is this K Mc Kernan who played for Down, any experience in management
