I love the craziness of it all, the far righters the PT's who talk bollox
What ever happened that headcase in Newry that was repeatedly arrested for Covid breaches?!

Please tell me this is Andy Malone again 🤣

What is that lads deal?

PT, selling microwavable Meals, life coach, self proclaimed millionaire.

Now a right wing speaker plastering his disgust at the courts, for not allowing him to see his kids, all over social media.

He wasn't long in picking up another 'job'

Armagh U20s as well, 3 jobs in 6 months not bad going

Armagh, Lavey & Belleek. Covers a wide area too.

Quote from: ck on May 06, 2026, 12:20:55 PMA horrible melt down by Derry. Complete panic on the pitch and on the line both in normal time and again in ET. There was absolutely no calm among the management, up roaring at one another, no-one in control. Naturally this spills on to the pitch.

As for RG and his social media inputs. For the life of me I cannot understand why he is doing this? Is it attention seeking, ego, desperation? I dunno.

What was the management on the line up to?

Go 3 up, bring on fresh legs and break the play up. Bring on another sub a min later etc....some of our men were absolutely spent. Easiest thing in the world though watching from the sidelines that's for sure

Meenagh is a shrewd operator , Sat goes down as just one of those days

Gallagher was saying in the video that it was a 'soft' decision to take Nial Loughin and Conor Doherty off, 2 lads that could barely run by the time they were took off and probably should've been took off earlier

Drinking game - Take a shot every time he says soft in that video. Airlocked.

Quote from: Interstellar on May 06, 2026, 08:21:46 PMWhen do we get an explanation from Derry management about the match last Saturday? No-one has appeared on any media platform. Very strange.

Catch yourself on.

Exactly. Meenagh is the man the players and Derry supporters wanted. It's all consuming, he has enough to be at. 1 championship result shouldn't define the man / management team's tenure. Plenty of football still to be played

Maybe I'm wrong but I just took his statement as why has no Derry management member came out and gave an interview after the game.

Just general questions about the game as no journalist is going to go in hard on a manager after a game - as they'll have to interview them next week and the next week etc.
So he only speaks to the media when we win? There is more talk here about Gallagher who hasn't managed the team for 3 years. Everyone in the stadium could see the momentum change in the second half but the sideline was found wanting. Mcguinness gave an interview after Donegal lost. I'm fully supportive of the team and for the moment the management but I think supporters deserve an explanation even if its only platitudes.

Quote from: illdecide on May 06, 2026, 11:41:20 AMMy two bits worth on Hatate etc is...I'm in the MON camp here on Hatate, the man has a talent and is a fine footballer but not in that Celtic team. He gives the ball away too much in dangerous positions and lacks the drive to get back and defend, he has no guts and will duck his head to avoid getting hit with the ball. He'll pull out of 50/50 tackles and simply cannot be relied on or as other people put it "Martin simply does not trust him". This Hatate talent has been raging around Celtic for years now but he's simply not the same footballer we had 3-4 years ago, he's off the boil and is not one to roll the sleeves up and get stuck in. Granted he might do someting class on the ball about 1 in every 5 games but that's just not enough.
Nygren has scored 20 goals from midfield yet Celtic fans are split on him even playing...Compare that to Matt O'Reilly who scored similar goals but fans loved him and was one of the first names on the team sheet. Nygren offers nothing in general play but will ghost in and score goals but is that enough?. Can Celtic afford to have a luxury player who contributes nowt but can score you goals...I dunno.
McCowan got a new contract more based on him being Scottish and was on the cheap, I personally don't rate him but his home grown talent and cheap contracts probably helped him. As for Scales, he's no Paulo Maldini and can be a bit slow and frustrating at times you can't really argue with the games he's played. Solid enough and a squad players in the future and again like McCowan I'd say he's not on big dollars.

Only soccer player i've ever seen wearing a gum shield.

Quote from: jb77 on May 05, 2026, 10:58:45 AMWhat do we make of Rory Gallaghers scathing review of things

I can't work out his reason for running that Instagram page?

Horrendous predictions by him, as someone above noted

Quote from: Interstellar on May 04, 2026, 03:40:14 PMIf we had beaten Monaghan even in extra-time and were now in the Ulster Final would people still be giving us no chance against Armagh in that final? I think not. The game now against Armagh has to be redemption time for this team otherwise big changes required for next year.

What big changes would you suggest?

Quote from: SouthDublinBro on May 04, 2026, 02:10:17 PMThe issue here is that it seems that the losing teams in this first round won't be eliminated, they just go into a loser's bracket. It's an advantage to get drawn against a stronger county at this stage so you will likely avoid playing that team again until the later knockout rounds.

Yeah the losers play another loser to get back in.

Danger is the likes of Armagh vs Derry loser getting Kerry v Donegal loser and a decent team getting an early summer.

No ulster this year, I don't expect us to challenge for the All Ireland either. Were not in the worst place but definitely short of Armagh, Donegal, Kerry etc.

Next year we are in Divison 2 again, just looking at the age profile of the team from Saturday evening, you have to think a right few of the team are in their 'prime years'

Gareth McKinless(32)
Brendan Rogers (32)
Niall Loughlin (30/31)
Niall Toner (30/31)
Conor Doherty (28)
Conor Glass (28)
Shane McGuigan (28)
Shea Downey (28)
Conor McCluskey (27)

What is the realistic ceiling in the next few years for this group?

Is there anyone in u20's or below that you think will be 'fast tracked' into the team like a Shane McGuigan, Glass etc?
