Quote from: bennydorano on January 24, 2026, 05:34:36 PMHard watch in general. Roarty is top drawer. Jimmy not reinventing the wheel after the AI defeat.

And what about the mighty Dubs? Other than a few Con O'Callaghan two pointers they look no better than the team that made a tame exit from last summers championship.

Dublin will be doing well to avoid relegation based on that first half. No surprise Dublin made 3 subs at half-time.

Donegal at a completely different place but not exactly  a whole pile to convince they will go any closer this year.

There was a kick of a ball in it
However it was a comfortable enough 3 points, Donegal despite being wasteful with their shooting were still a street ahead in all respects, Dublin players were clearly knackered at the final whistle.

As straightred pointed out that was a nasty tackle/assault from Murchin followed by what appeared to be a deliberate add-on double knee dig into the face.

Ralston performed  as  a pitch perfect substitute and it all ended relatively good.

A magnificent point.

Strange that the media reports don't highlight the obvious that the president of the USA performs on stage  no better than a meandering bumbling Alzheimar afflicted elder. On the other hand, kudos to the media for not putting focus on the mentally challenged elder person who has a severely restricted ability to construct a single sentence never mind express a coherent point.

"Iceland!! I never mentioned Iceland".

Quote from: Tony Baloney on January 19, 2026, 09:11:42 PMI see Hugh Laurie is in s3 of Tehran on Apple. I have always assumed it's Iraeli propaganda shite and have never watched it. Anyone watched it to concur?

Watched first series, got anxiety watching it lol, but here's the thing, anything you watch will have 'their' spin on it..

Ireland, American, British all have made stuff that's slightly slanted

Fauda is another that could fall into that, Homeland is another and so on

My view is to watch it for entertainment purposes. Must get back into it
I watched Fauda for a few episodes but stopped because of the obvious  pro Israel bias with smart warriors  v Palestinian fanatics, yet it was as if they also went to great lengths to fake a semblance of balance.
Tehran is a good bit different, you can whittle out political bias and enjoy the drama knowing its just drama.

It's pretty obvious considering that Iran's military prowess is paltry by Israel's standards, they have invested much into developing nuclear military prowess and in the same vein Israel has invested much into disrupting that process.

Quote from: greatpoint on January 18, 2026, 05:51:56 PMHow did the ref go back for a free at the end while the point from the previous passage of play still stood? Surely it's one or the other?

Geaney didn't even attempt to score the free and according to the scoreboard the game ended level.

St. Brigids breached the 3 player rule from the kickout after the point was scored. Was a different passage of play.

Was smart thinking by Geaney. Avoided the 1% chance of hitting the post and Brigids going up the field.
Same happened in the Championship, Meath I believe, a free after the hooter when leading and went for the score.

If that's the case then given that the ref clearly wasn't going to let the game continue past the kickout why even bother with the free?

Why was the point taken off the scoreboard?
Scoreboard keeper was probably as confused as many were to the refs decision to award a freekick in those circumstances.

Quote from: 5times5times on January 15, 2026, 10:19:25 AMIdeal prep for Monaghan for their 1st league game vs a seriously depleted Armagh team.

They'll have had 2 extra games.

Armagh i'd say nailed on to go down. ~20 lads unavailable of AI squad?
The Armagh lads are getting their excuses in early by the dozen.

Unfortunately it's fact rather than any sort of cute hoorism. Would expect us to be further on in terms of training than this time last year but the personnel probably aren't of the same quality just yet, hopefully a few gems come through
Well, Armagh  got slightly the better of Monaghan a couple of years ago in a league opener at Kip Castleblaney. Both teams had a decent line up but looking at Armagh's team it looked stronger. Are there many left from that team?
Armagh: Ethan Rafferty (0-01); Aaron McKay, Aidan Forker, Ross Finn; Conor O'Neill, Barry McCambridge, Jarly Óg Burns; Stephen Sheridan (0-1m), Stefan Campbell (0-02); Jemar Hall, Rory Grugan (0-01f), Tiernan Kelly (1-00); Rían O'Neill (Joint-Capt., 0-05, 2m, 1f), Andrew Murnin (0-01), Aidan Nugent (Joint-Capt., 0-02).

Subs: Jason Duffy for Hall (H-T); Niall Grimley for Sheridan (58); Ross McQuillan (0-1) for Murnin (64).

Monaghan have 4 home games, one of which is Donegal in the last round.
I predict a return of the 'great escape'.

Grateful Dead founding member Bob Wier who famously dedicated "He's Gone" to Bobby Sands  in concert Nassau Coliseum 06/05/81  who had just died on hunger strike. That was about the only overt political statement  made by any member of the "Dead" on stage in their long and prolific life as the best Rock band ever.

The concert was recorded on the exclusive Dick's Picks recordings , Dick's Picks 13

I'm not exactly a fan of Patrick in his LLS role but I thought he was pitch perfect this evening, none of his predecessors could have compered the Trad evening to that standard. I'm a bit concerned about Christy, not there and looking visibly a bit frail.

Quote from: JimStynes on January 01, 2026, 08:27:35 PMContinuing on with the French shows I'm
watching. I've started one called Spiral and it's very good so far. 8 seasons so plenty of watching to do.
I am curious, were you not on the board when we were fulsomely praising  Le Bureau and Spiral to the
highest hilt? it's as if you are only now discovering the Barca team  of 2011 that had Xavi, Iniesta and Messi in flowing majestic form.
