As a Newcastle fan I'm hoping for at least 3 players to be signed as our side needs more strengh and depth and the money should be there with the Milner sale I hope!!

Expect Berb to go to Manchester United and Arash to Spurs after that don't know how the day will turn out ::) ::)

Longshanks, what about the possible rumoured return of Owen to Liverpool for an old Ford Cortina?  As a Newcastle fan would you be disappointed to see him leave.

With an £100,000 off our wage bill a week might not be that bad, Il be gutted if we give him the contract he wants, he owes us after all the money he has basically took off us for lying on the injury table!!

When fit a great striker but I dunno if he fits into the way we play at the moment, I like our new signings though...Guiterrez tracks and tackles back like a man poccessed, as for Guthrie he was a bargin and looks a cracking wee player, and Colocinni can only get better once Given learns Spanish to communicate or he learns English..

Espanyol have made an offer for Steve Finnan!
Liverpool have turned it down, but negotiations are ongoing.
Either way its expected that Liverpool will finalise the signing of Albert Riera from Espanyol today.

Corluka joins Spurs from Man City

Newcastle agree fee for Xisco, a striker with Deportivo. Personal terms yet to be agreed...

Quaresma joins Inter from Porto (subject to medical) for €30m (€18m cash plus Pele plus another €6m performance related cash)

Longshanks

Corluka will be a good signing for them, maybe shore up that defence, I expect more signings from Spurs though.

Will be interesting to see what happens on the transfer front with Liverpool today. Riera is sure to be signed but with pennant, voronin & finnan all looking like they are out of favour, I'd be surprised if they're all still at the club tomorrow.

I was in Newcastle last week (sunny Whitley Bay) so I tuned in to watch the Newcastle Arsenal match.

Newcastle were shite. I'd advocate splitting the Premier League in two.

Many would argue it already is.

I see Citeh have launched a late attempt to derail the Berbatov to United deal. £30m  apparently. Why would he want to leave Tottenham for City though? Apart from the lolly.

Is that not a good enough reason?

If the owners spend big, at Christmas and next summer then they could certainly challenge for a CL spot.

Don't be surprised to see Madrid gatecrash the Berbatov party to allow Robinho to go to Chelsea.

Spurs have accepted the bid...

Only last week they were saying what has Mark Hughes got himself into at City..seems to be working out quite nicely now.
