Armagh boys rattled tonight

I thought Donnelly was in the square before the ball was even passed to him to palm home.

Kickouts are going to be so important this year for all teams, the impact of kickouts really is wild - maybe disproportionately so.

I'd agree

Surely mcgeeny will say enough is enough and keep him away from panel. A distraction at this stage

Confirmed by management tonight. No loss to Armagh his constant distraction.

Yet several folks here said I was talking rubbish....

Enjoyed the game tonight
Had no intensity but some nice scores on both sides and wasn't a bad way to spend a Friday night
Thought Canavan excellent as always
Frank burns also had a good run out
Joe played well for Armagh as did no6
Both keepers though were car crashes

When asked about returns for some of his missing players, Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney stated, "Rian O'Neill is not back in. Rory Grugan is the end of January.

"Barry McCambridge, Jason Duffy will hopefully be sooner rather than later. Cian McConville there's just a lot of colds and flus over the winter period. Tiernan Kelly is the same.

"Greg McCabe has just got married there. They had to get the day off for that! We have eight or nine knocking about and will see them in the next three, four weeks."

Pressed on Rian O'Neill and if he might be coming back into the panel at a later stage, as he did last season, McGeeney added, "I wouldn't say so, no."

On Peter Harte

"I think Peter at this stage is not going to be able to commit unfortunately," said Tyrone manager, Malachy O'Rourke.

"We are never going to close the door on him and if it were a case that he had a wee bit of breathing space later on in the year, he was able to come back, well then the door would be open for him.

"But at this stage, he's not able to give the commitment. We just have to move on in the short term without him and see how things go."
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Ah yes a competition that gives youngsters like Mattie Donnelly,Darren McCurry a chance.

Armagh should gain revenge in the upcoming division one campaign against Tyrone,  oh wait...

Lol it's not like we were full out though. As much as I miss seeing a championship 15 play Mckenna Cup games under Mickey Harte I think I prefer seeing the 5 or 6 lads get their first run out for the county. By my reckoning 2 Armagh players in the starting 15 made their debuts compared to 5 from Tyrone? Open to correction on that though and that's not counting what came off the bench

On Peter Harte, couldn't ask much more from him. Gave everything for 15 odd years. Written off when he was first drafted in by some due to Mickey being involved. Proved his worth and owes us nothing. More important things in life than football at the end of the day

Lad be bck for the championship!

Don't think we will see another team relegated on 7 points in our lifetime like Tyrone 2025. Armagh were also on 7.

You clearly didn't follow the McKenna cup under the Mickey Harte regime.

But mickey would have won those games... the joke is armagh half strengthed team failed.

2 men with a combined age of over 70 years old. Clutching at straws a bit. Not hard for anyone to recognise armagh had more established senior players on the pitch than tyrone did.

Going to be a long year with use armagh ones if you cant even acknowledge that. Its the McKenna cup ffs

ONeill

Parked in the City Hotel. Armagh is a nice city spoiled by the amount of Armagh people. Had a pint and a cappuccino in Keegan's. Again, far too many Armagh ones to feel safe.

As for the game, noticed you don't have the same beer-bellies post Christmas as you would've had years ago. Or when the league started back in November.

It was a cobweb-shaker and both managers would have been relatively pleased by things they saw. Oisin O'Neill is in some shape. Didn't think he was MOTM though. Canavan and Donnelly instrumental in getting the win.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

RedhandEastie

🤣 Armagh fans reaching for the excuses now, was chatting with a few who expected an easy win with those line ups. McGeeney be absolutely fuming.
Armaghs star beginning to burn out?
Losing Campbell, Grimley and the other retirees going to leave their bench very weak. No big star quality now either with Rian away- wouldn't have won AI without him.
Kieran Donaghy might have saw it coming?

They were probably looking at you funny as nobody has ever  seen a Tyrone man drink a  cappuccino before.
