FT Roscommon 0-11 Galway 1-14. 1-8 for Shane Walsh. No Conor Cox today for the rossies and has been ruled out for a month with a broken hand, a huge blow to their promotion hopes.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Good win after a very poor first 25 minutes. Both sides were struggling early on but Roscommon took more of the few chances on offer. In fairness Galway really picked it up after that. Second half was decent.

Shane Walsh, different class. Best player on the pitch. Possibly maturing as a footballer now. Varley very good showing for the ball and linking play even though he didn't actually score. Must have had a fair few assists. Finnerty quiet enough but got 2 tidy points just before half time. Well able to score but maybe drifts out of games a little. Still young.

Galway well on top in midfield generally apart from a few spilled balls that Roscommon picked up. Roscommon keeper had a bit of a nightmare with his kickouts to be fair. He kept finding a maroon jersey better than our own keeper could.

Bit disappointed with the wing forwards and wing backs. Sean Kelly first Galway player taken off. Wasn't really in it. Brannigan red carded with 10 mins to go but nobody seemed to know what it was for so it must have been something off the ball related? He was a bit sloppy in possession all game. McDaid black carded and wasn't in it much. Boyle scored a nice point early on but drifted out of it then.

John Daly was good.

Mulkerrin was the most impressive of the youngsters. Wasn't under huge pressure but did everything very well. Looked calm on the ball and even sneaked up the field to kick a point which was a bonus for a full back.

Conroy was good after he came on. Kicked 2 great points towards the end.

Comer came on late. Looks like a fella who needs more game time under his belt.

Michael Daly and Conor Campbell didn't play even though both were selected to. Colin Murray went off injured early. Had to be helped off the pitch. Not sure what happened there. Didn't seem to be anyone around him at the time.

Ref was an awful fuss I thought. Numerous times blew for fouls when he could have let advantage go.

It was cold.

Would be good to see Mulkerrin do well with the seniors.
He was such a good county minor.
His form has dipped in the last 2 years but hopefully he’ll come through that.
Roll on Monaghan next week.

Well that's our FBD title gone and deservedly so.
First real game of the tear and we were found wanting in so many aspects
Not many positives can be taken from the game and with injuries and non commitals we'll do well to avoid relegation never mind promotion :-\
1 BIG CUP and 1 Cupeen so far....

Was worried going in with the very makeshift nature of the Galway team but a 6 point victory in a low scoring game is fairly comprehensive.

Some interesting decisions for PJ etc now going into next week. Assuming no Corofin players will start, although he'll surely be looking to draft them in by the Kerry game the following week. As decent as Gleeson looked, I'd imagine he'll go RO'B in goal given how inexperienced the former is from a GAA perspective overall. Id imagine Mulkeriin will keep his place, albiet probably at corner back alongside G'OD and Duane, with Heaney to wingback maybe. Probably Conroy, Daly (provided no injury) and Comer (if fit enough) to come in at the expensive of Kelly, Boyle and O'laoi. He'll have a headache up front once Burke and maybe Farragher are back, given the form of Varley. An abundance of options anyway, which is a huge plus for this time of year, barring the midfield injuries
