Down hurlers won't have a look in.  ;)

Should definitely win the British Broadcasting Corporations Sports personality of the year award now also.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed

Liverpool will win the teams part of that competition

That's not as important as the Ards and North Down one FFS.

You lads have taken some serious amount of soup.

Potato and Leek is my favorite.

Sir Rory McIlroy of Ard Mhic Nasca has a nice cross community feel to it...looked for the Ulster Scots version of Holywood but can't find it surprisingly...

In fairness it is some achievement. He is in very hallowed company. Level Seve and 1 behind Faldo in terms of European golfers with Majors but does the career Grand Slam push him over the edge as greatest European golfer ever?  I think so. Fantastic achievement

Well done Rory all the same, that's some achievement for any player in any sport.

I work with a lad who's a member of Holywood Golf club and has spoken to Rory a few times, do I get some recognition and reflective glory now as well?

That's it, Lurgan is claiming ownership

Franko

That was as good as it gets in terms of sporting entertainment.

Fair play to him - he could easily go on another run of majors now

Ever dip garlic bread into it? Game changer

He's won loads of big tournaments so I don't think that's appropiate.

Huge question marks come the Majors tho Marty

Huge question jibbajabba?

LOL.

A lad who's won loads of tournaments and people are questioning his bottle.

Who looks silly now?

Of course there were huge questions

There aren't any more

Though I think it was pure raw talent that got him over the line there, not mental strength

Some of the recovery shots he played were just insane

But he'll never feel that sort of pressure again now - so god knows how many majors he could win

Because in terms of pure golfing ability - I don't think anyone even comes close to him

Is that 3 tournaments for Rory this year? Scottie just wasn't consistent enough this weekend, no doubt he'll be the next grand slammer.

Should be interesting to see if Rory plays the next competition or just relaxes

Ah I think there was plenty of mental toughness and resilience on display from him last night, as well as the flakiness or however you want to put it. He had to go and "win" it (through his own fault of course) about 4 or 5 different times

The drive on 18 in the playoff, having lost it on the final green, and then watched Rose hit a really good tee shot, was tough as can be.

Yes, along with a strong finish to last year in Dubai. The PGA is up next at Quail Hollow where he's been the best and most consistent player for 15 years, having won it 4 times. He'll deservedly be favourite and, as has been mentioned several times, the previous narrative will be completely gone.
