I stuck €30 on with paddy powers 3-1....

Tankie

well it wont be broken by the fastest irish man in history but the slowest man in the final!
Grand Slam Saturday!

Rossie11

Dont think that time can be broken.
That time of Johnsons was unreal

MayoMan

Fair play to Paul Hession 20.32 sec winning his heat, great stuff....
Usain Bolt is a different story though, he should win this one easy with plenty to spare...

No, he's in the semi's........................

think bolt would need to beat his PB by nearly half a second?? dont think he'll beat the WR but will deffo take gold, like johson said himself, dont think bolt will break rcord at these olympics, but may well over his career

Our Nail Loney

might take that 3-1 myself

ps there already is an olympics thread, i dont give a shit but some of the grumpier posters will prob be in here shortly crying!

After seeing Bolt jog over the line today making a 20.29 and watching the above i think it will be smashed tomorrow for sure....
He's the perfect build for a runner, he can do it.....

Ah that other thread is all over the shop, this is a special race..... come on Jamaica and Ireland

I think Johnson's 96 run was the greatest sprinting performance of all time, and that record will outlive this decade at a minimum. Bolt does look like he has the attributes to challenge it over his career, but not just yet.

Dont know can he do the corner like Johnson due to his height
As well as that Johnson done the last 100 in 9.5secs!!
Its a huge ask to beat that

As Ato Boldon said afterwards "Nineteen thirty-two? That's not a time, that sounds more like my dad's birthday!"

just a correction on that. he did the last 100m in a electrifying 9.2secs. The 1st 100m was covered in a snail's pace - 10.12sec.  :P

I thought that record would stand for decades but I honestly think Bolt could do it.
