Global warming would only apply to  rising  temperatures. But you  can lump in any weather event under the climate change  umbrella  and make it stick.

Is isn't. May was the global hottest May ever. June 2023 was the hottest June ever.

Global warming would only apply to  rising  temperatures. But you  can lump in any weather event under the climate change  umbrella  and make it stick.

Actually, both are commonly used. Climate change takes in the fact that temperatures are rising, but also other meteorological factors like precipitation, wind etc. None of which take any credit away from the scientific proof that global temperatures are rising.
The myth that global warming is a term not used by scientists anymore is complete nonsense, and belongs in the mouths of idiotic morons on Twitter.

It's the difference between weather and climate. Climate change doesn't mean you won't get unseasonal weather like we are getting at the minute. You'd have to look at average temps etc. I read an article recently that said the UK is more likely to experience "heatwave" weather now than before the Industrial Revolution. Something like 20 or 30 times more likely now.
Also warmer air can lead to more rain as warm air holds more moisture. That's why we're having warmer, wetter winters with more flooding.
Have to say the weather is having a serious effect on people's mental health at the min. We need a break of 7-10 days good weather to lift people again. But outlook ain't good.
