It's because they can't issue official storm warnings for Northern Ireland, only for Ireland.

"Only for Ireland"  ::)

Hook, line and sinker.

Language matters, I'm sure Gallsman would agree.

You're not running for President. When you can find evidence of me complaining about the terminology that has been used by any of the three candidates in the last week, come back to me then like a good lad.

Yet here you are complaining about me referring to the 26 cos as 'Ireland'. Something that has become very popular in the south recently, even using 'Ireland' and 'Northern Ireland' in the same sentence.

My running for president or not has zero to do with it. Nice try but complete fail.

Ya know what....you're right. I can't go out the door without people tellng me how big an issue it is that Catherine Connolly says "The" Ukraine. I didn't want to admit it, but it's all anyone is talking about.

RTE could report weather warnings issued by the UK Met Office for the north east region to improve the service.

Yes they could. I'm sure whatever satellites are used for weather reports for the 26 counties don't stop working at the border. It wouldn't be difficult.

It's not an issue for the Irish - it's is for the Ukrainians.

If Connolly gets elected and started referring to Ireland and Northern Ireland you'll be hearing all about it.

Language matters and you proved it yourself.

Keep digging.

Water Safety Ireland is urging the public to exercise extreme caution near all bodies of water over the coming days.

The organisation is advising the public to avoid coastal areas, rivers, lakes, and flood-prone zones as conditions deteriorate, with risks including powerful waves, sudden surges, and fast-flowing currents.

Storm conditions significantly increase the danger in areas that are typically safe, it said in a statement on Friday.

"Water Safety Ireland is appealing to the public to prioritise safety and avoid putting themselves or emergency services at unnecessary risk."

Not mad that the schools closed early, however it was a call that could have been made last night and save the panic at lunchtime today.

The wife was sent home at 12!
