Heading there for the weekend, supposed to be a fairly mad spot. Has anyone been there, all suggestions appreciated.

I was there circa 1992. Wasnt that much craic, but I was only 12. Never saw such free range pornography like it.

Hope you enjoy Cake, the Germans love their cakes. Lovely clean country and no trouble at nights, when out enjoying yourself. A better attitude to alcohol than the Irish.

Take one of the bus tours to give you a general orientation.  If you are going to the Reichstag, go early to avoid the queues.  I stayed in Hotel 26 in East Berlin and found the area to be very reasonable, pints at 2-3 euros and good food.    The Jewish museum is fascinating and the Holocaust memorial near the Brandenburg gate is worth a visit.  Have the currywurst.  The top floor of KadeWe is worth having lunch in, massive and you can people watch.  Public transport is easy so you might want to think about getting a three day pass for 24 euros.  Enjoy yourself

Was there for 3 nights a few weeks back, stayed in a hostel called Generator it was deadly craic about 1000 people in the place, bar downstairs and did food and that so lay and drank there 2 of the nights.  There's a tourist pub crawl that's on every night except Sunday I think, plenty of Irish ones on that too when I was there, it picked people up at our hostel but I'm sure there's other pick up points for it too.  Did a walking tour when we were there too one of the days, it left from the Brandenberg gate twice a day I think, if you like history its interesting.
