I was informed by a regular poster (who has now vanished) to the GAA discussion board that if I purchased the program HIDE MY IP for $41.95 I could manually enter an IP address from Ireland and therefore watch GAA matches live via the web on RTE. This is incorrect information (see below for the evidence) so please don't make the same mistake as me. The only benefit to this program was that I could use it to set up an address from the UK therefore I could listen to live radio commentary on BBC Radio Ulster to the Cavan v Armagh game.

You cannot manually enter an IP address into our software. You can manually select from the ones that are provided to you by our Network, the TOR Network or the Open Network system.

Best Regards,

I was on a streaming site - myp2p and was talking to a few gaels about this and there is a way which involves using Trinity College Proxies. Once its set up - is very easy to get RTE anywhere in the world.

You can get it on setanta broadband - This week they have the same games as RTE online live....and they also archive the games.

Are you sure about that, i would like to watch the mayo v sligo game . nothing on setanta about that.???

Lamh Dhearg Alba

Last year I was able to watch the games online every Sunday through RTE by simply changing my location on the control panel from UK to Ireland. Sounds simple but it worked. Not anymore though, they have clearly closed the loophole :(. Setanta 1 (which is all I have as its the freeview package) are showing a bit of GAA this year though which is a bonus.

Last weekend they didnt show the Tyrone Down game, or the week before, even though all were on rte.ie.

Infact, this years setanta has been a waste of money.

What about videoing it and putting it on You Tube straight away - delayed coverage

What part of my post do people not understand.

YES PEOPLE ARE GETTING RTE OVERSEAS

They use a Trinity College Proxy which when you know how to find is easy to set up.

Also some games are streamed on Sopcast - mostly Dub games at this stage.

Anyone looking info on how to get RTE abroad should look at myp2p forum to find out how to do it. ie search for a Trinity Proxy (Universities Colleges Proxy Ireland - when you search)
