Mayo County Council will take any car that is parked with a sale sign on it along the highways and byways of the county and crush them free of charge to discourage anyone  selling by this method.
True.
Badgers, birds and frogs will be asked to use over and underpasses as part of the new "Safe Mayo Road Scheme". Maybe fixing the holes and draining the lakes along said roads would be more beneficial to road safety.
THE LUNATICS ARE RUNNING THE ASYLUM.

It really is a horrible thing to see in all fairness

It happens the world over, although crushing the cars is a bit extreme - does mayo have nothing else which requires that kind of expenditure?

Towing the cars, or putting a boot on it would be a much better deterrent - plus it would inject some cash back into the local economy. Not that there are lines and lines of cars waiting to be towed.

I know where you're coming from, but as puckoon says, it happens all over the world and I don't see how the Mayo County Council can really deter these animals from jaywalking, it's just so much handier than using the overpass.
