Does anyone if us Setanta subscribers overseas will be affected by TV3 showing certain games - they always carry the RTE feed for championship matches, I'd hope the same agreement is still in place for TV3 screened games - is Easytiger still about?

RTÉ Sport has revealed details of its comprehensive GAA Championship 2008 coverage across RTÉ Television, RTÉ Radio and RTÉ.ie at a launch in Montrose.

The Sunday Game will celebrate its 30th year with a number of new innovations, while RTÉ Radio will provide live and exclusive coverage of the Championship. RTÉ.ie will add a dedicated web channel to its highly successful GAA site.

Michael Lyster will present The Sunday Game for a 25th season, while Pat Spillane returns for highlights and analysis every Sunday night throughout the Championship.

Broadcasting up to 40 live games, The Sunday Game will be further strengthened by three new panellists.

Joining the team will be former Clare hurling goalkeeper Davy Fitzgerald, former Wexford hurler Declan Ruth, former Dublin football captain Coman Goggins.

RTÉ's flagship GAA programme will continue to innovate, with brand new results and analysis features as well as the provision of a dedicated match centre in RTÉ.

This year's Sunday Game programme will see the introduction of a brand new state-of the-art analysis tool known as 'PIERO'.

Specially adapted for Gaelic Games and exclusive to The Sunday Game, new features will include player tracking, distance to posts and speed of the ball. Ah Jaysus do we really need this

Joanne Cantwell will join Pat Spillane each Sunday night for a new in-depth analysis segment and, in a brand new feature of The Sunday Game Live, Joanne Cantwell will also be providing the latest news, views and results live from the GAA match centre in RTÉ.

Also new for this year's Championship is a brand new dedicated web channel on RTÉ.ie.

The GAA Media Player will be the hub for fans, with the latest video and audio content on all things Championship.

The site will feature all of RTÉ's GAA output, including live coverage, highlights, news, interviews and features from across RTÉ Television, RTÉ Radio and RTÉ News.

The Sunday Game, Take Your Point and The Road To Croker are just some of the programmes that will be available on demand.

The GAA Media Player will be part of RTÉ.ie's dedicated GAA Championship site, which last year received six million page impressions.

The site will continue to feature expert analysis, live text match-trackers, exclusive podcast material, picture galleries, Championship schedules and interactive features, as well as news, previews and match reports.

RTÉ Radio 1 will provide the most comprehensive national radio coverage of the Championships.

The renowned team of Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh, Brian Carthy, Adrian Eames, John Kenny, Pauric Lodge, Siobhan Madigan, Martin Kiely and Clem Ryan will provide commentaries and reports on all of the Championship action.

Sunday Sport, presented by Jimmy Magee for the last 30 years, will be the flagship radio programme for the Championship, with additional programmes being broadcast on Saturday evenings for the qualifiers.

Take Your Point with Con Murphy will return on Sunday, 1 June at 6.05pm for analysis and reaction to the afternoon's games.

During the week, Drivetime Sport with Des Cahill at 6.30pm will follow all the breaking stories, while this year Brian Carthy's Championship programme will be featured each week in the early part of Saturday Sport.

On RTÉ News, Jonathan Mullin, RTÉ's new Gaelic Games correspondent will provide reports on all the latest championship developments and breaking news stories.

Group Head of Sport Glen Killane said: 'It's a testament to RTÉ's GAA coverage that The Sunday Game continues to go from strength-to-strength 30 years on and that RTÉ Radio's team are so widely respected and synonymous with GAA throughout the country.

'While the public recognise RTÉ's proud tradition of Gaelic Games broadcasting, they have also enjoyed and engaged with our more recent initiatives.

'The Road To Croker and Take Your Point will both return this season after successful runs last year and we've had phenomenal response to our dedicated Championship site on RTÉ.ie which last year received six million page impressions.

'Our 2008 Championship coverage will include several new features, from our dedicated web channel on RTÉ.ie to our enhanced analysis features on The Sunday Game.

'We're constantly innovating and improving our coverage to ensure that GAA fans can enjoy the highest quality Gaelic Games coverage across RTÉ's wide range of platforms.'

The Sunday Game began broadcasting 1979 on RTÉ Television. Jim Carney presented the first series, followed by Seán Óg O Ceallacháin in 1980. In 1981 Jim Carney returned and presented the programme for the next three years. Current presenter Michael Lyster took over the programme in 1984 and has been at the helm ever since.

The programme originated as a highlights programme on Sunday nights and then in the early 1990's The Sunday Game Live began broadcasting live matches in the early evening and then later, in the afternoons. Michael Lyster currently presents The Sunday Game Live, while Pat Spillane has been the main anchor of the Sunday night highlights show since 2004.

I was at the launch * 2 today in Montrose and just to let ye lads know that we won't know the final list of RTÉ Live TV games until sometime next week. I know the big Midlands derby Westmeath-Longford is the preferred Live showing on Sunday week.

Talking to Michael Lyster tonight also I can confirm that along with the games mentioned above - RTE are showing the Laois v Wicklow/Kildare game live on May 31st - details are very sketchy to be honest but with RTÉ and TV3 showing 50 odd games between them this Summer, the bulk of the main ties will be shown - one thing i'm most unsure of is what qualifier games will be shown - last year there was a big bias in this regard towards one code but hopefully that will change

If I hear any more I'll let ye know

RTE have assured armchair GAA followers that there won't be any clashes between the station's live TV coverage and TV3's this summer.

The state broadcaster celebrated the launch of the 30th season of the 'The Sunday Game' on Thursday, with some details of its championship coverage which gets underway on Sunday week, May 11 with the screening of the Leinster championship first round clash between midland rivals Longford and Westmeath.

This will be the first year RTE will have to share live broadcasting with TV3, which has secured the rights to show 10 live matches for the first time this year.

The Sunday Game's Paul Byrnes said: "We're not going up against each other.

"Our contracts specified that, and anyway it wouldn't make much sense for either of us. On the days when we've a match each, the transmission times will be 2pm and 4pm, to be decided each week."

Byrnes said that agreeing on the schedules hadn't been a problem: "There was a feeling that it might have proved difficult, but once we sat down with the GAA and TV3 it turned out to be very straightforward."
