Red or Dead! ;)
Boys You've got it all wrong, giving off about clear diesel!
Reds the future! Although a price rise round bellaghy has increased it from 60p to 65p a litre! :o I was disgusted!

Priest: I think Ted has a plan
Dougal: No. I mean in general.

I think LPG is the way forward (although the price of this will obviously rise also)
costs about £1500 to convert the petrol car but it then runs on both and LPG is around 50p/litre....  :o

As far as i know but dont quote me on it!! I know people who've had it done and the tank goes where the spare-wheel would sit in the boot, and an extra cap usually along the back bumper somewhere to fill up. There is a little instrument attached to the dash showing how much is left in the tank etc. When the car first starts its running on petrol for about 5mins r so then it switches over to the LPG and the instrument will also tell you this... Great job i think and if you do any miles at all it will pay for itself in no time!!!!

Sounds like the way forward...I wonder will it affect the performance of the car in any way and is it only petrol cars that can be converted or diesel too...

I suppose if people start changing to this the government will soon hike the prices up

Cars usually have a reduction in performance/bhp of between 3-5% but if your only doing normal driving and not crazy rallying you'll not even notice it!!!
Flicked through the website there and they state that the LPG does less miles per gallon than petrol or diesel but the cost of the LPG makes it worthwhile.
They also say that because the LPG is a lot cleaner the engine will last twice as long as a petrol or even diesel!!!!   :o :o :o

The price of heating oil is annoying me more than diesel for the car. At one point I had filled in the form for a wood pellet boiler grant and then just decided it was too much hassle and put the oil in instead - better the devil you know and all that. Wish I had done it now! I'll be telling the wife to put a jumper on instead of putting the heating on!

You won't like that then - we all know how much pleasure you take from seeing women wearing t-shirts in cold weather.

The prices of the gas has risen a rite bit lately as well, it was 30p a litre in the summer 06 and in less than 2 years has risen til over 50p so i expect it will steadlily increase as well with the amount of people converting now.

They'd sicken your hole!

Surely the govenment watchdog agencies can put a stop to the rises!!!!!????  :-[ ???

The chairman of OPEC said yesterday that oil will probably hit $200 a barrel. And he'd know! It's "only" about $120 a the minute. If the price of heating oil follows suit and almost doubles there will a few trees getting chopped down around the house and extra blankets threw on the beds. At least we're coming into a long hot summer  ::)
