HELP... Ipod malfunction

Just put Boticelli (sic) CD onto computer Itunes, then onto Mrs GDA's Ipod, it now has a tick on the screen says it's in disk mode and it's Ok to disconnect.
But it won't let me do anything with it, won't switch off, won't play etc.....

Help, my head is getting pickled!

Take a extra blanket, the couch can be cold this time of year.

Hold the centre button and the top of the outside wheel at the same time this should reset your ipod for you
