Had the same thought... if it was my daughter humiliated like that. 65 grand.. good for her!

Oh absolutely no question there, can't be at that sort of thing!
But a sacking and an apology would have done the job, not sure what the need for ££ is.

If you look at the current compensation guidance, £65,000 is a pretty large settlement.

I have handed out far less money in the past whilst sitting on Industrial Tribunals for what would seem to be far more egregious behaviour within the workplace.

Know of people died/seriously injured who got less!!

Reading that, there's a possibility. However, if that's the case, then presumably the Equality Commission negotiator might have sought to up the proposed settlement, to cover any tax liability.

Exactly.

It shouldn't have happened but lets put it in perspective. She got a slap on the arse and got more money than ones who's family members were murdered during the troubles.
