What happened to that young Donegal guy Dooher? He got near as bad a beating as I have read.

I remember watching Benn-McClellan as a youngun because it was live on ITV. Even as an 8 year old I was able to understand the savagery of it. A horrifying night.

McClennan was a class fighter. Didn't he put Benn on his arse first round? Fight looked over. But Benn was a tough cookie and clawed his way back into fight with sheer will. Or am I confusing another fight.

You're not. Benn looked toast and was lucky to make it past the first round.

I think I seen a documentary on this a few years ago on ITV, one of the things that stuck out was the fact that the referee on the night did not even speak a word of English.  Not an expert in boxing but people interviewed in the programme said this should not have happened.  Also one of McClelland's team was interviewed and they were convinced Benn's comeback was only possible if he had been 'juiced' I think was the term he used.

They were told to stay on the public footpath a short distance from the building, where they addressed members of the media, until they discovered that all the reporters present were working for Irish media outlets. They then stopped and walked away.

Not doing a great job of attracting American attention so far anyway.

I think they have a lot of backing online anyway from that kind of crowd.

I wonder is Enoch up to date with paying his fines. If he is then he must have some backing somewhere because he must have accrued some number of fines by now.
