The High Court in Dublin has approved a bid by Ryanair to stop a proposed strike by Ireland-based pilots on Thursday and Friday.
Good relations after this??  I wouldn't think so
Ryanair is on a shaky scraw

"Ryanair has decided to close its base at Faro International Airport in southern Portugal from next year with the loss of at least 120 jobs, according to the SNPVAC cabin crew union, which had called a strike for 21-25 August.
The budget airline told the union the decision to close the base, which operates ten aircraft in summer, was part of wider planned cuts flagged last week due to weaker earnings, the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX and concerns over Brexit, said SNPVAC director Fernando Gandra."

Many Brits don't even have the money now for Ryanair fares thanks to the collapse in sterling

UK residents took an average of 1.6 holidays abroad in 2018. Overall, residents took 3.4 holidays per person, including domestic vacations within the United Kingdom.

Are people taking fewer holidays abroad?

Despite figures showing a decrease in the average number of overseas holidays, there is yet to be evidence of a drastic change in the behavior of British travelers. The number of holiday trips taken abroad has increased each year, and Brits appear to be as keen as ever to travel. The rising price of international travel and the impact of Brexit however are issues that potentially threaten future travel trends, pushing more travelers to vacation at home.
There is evidence of lower spending.
Ryanair has closed its Faro base in Portugal and will open one in Malta. Malta is cheaper than Portugal.

It's interesting to see "travelers" used in a different context. I saw a perfume display "for travellers" in an airport in Rome. The word has a different meaning in Ireland

Not the sharpest tool in the box. ;D

I share his disgust with the new handball rules, but he needs to direct his anger at the correct target.

Teacher ‘wrote on child’s forehead’

Quote
A PRIMARY school child was ‘humiliated’ in front of ‘laughing classmates’ after a teacher wrote on their forehead with a marker, it has been claimed.

An investigation has been launched into the incident which occured at St Lawrence’s PS, Fintona.

The UlsterHerald has been told by a ‘concerned parent’ that the pupil was left in tears.

They claim that a teacher wrote the word ‘capital’ on the child’s forehead with a marker after they ‘struggled to grasp the concept of capital letters’.

St. Lawrence's is my old Primary School. My reaction to hearing about this lies somewhere between disturbing and disgusted - if true, the teacher needs to be named after they're sacked.   >:(
Fighting against ignorance on the internet since 1999. It's just taking longer than I hoped.

The Krispy Kreme outlet in Blanchardstown is the company’s best performing branch in the world with income of almost €300,000 a week!

It won't make as much next year as they've had to close it during the night owing to bolloxes blowing horns.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

This is absolutely true, the teacher is female with a history of outbursts. she also reportedly slapped the mother of said pupil when confronted by her.

On a related topic I have never seen as many people about as I have in the last few months. Properly obese people. I could do with shifting a stone myself but how the f**k do people get into this shape at such a young age?!

Shite parenting.

14 and 15 year olds will eat what they want. And if they get pocket money they will get what they want. Bad parenting won’t help but that’s not the reason. If you want to control your teenagers try living in North Korea
