Quote from: Wildweasel74 on December 22, 2024, 12:23:20 AMFury a classless bollix, boxing better hes done! and Frank Warren sending his lackey in there, taking away Uysk interview. That lad didn't win a f**king round against Uysk.

TBF I think Dubois was robbed against Usyk. Wasn't a low blow so was a stoppage for Dubois imo. I think Usyk's tolerance to the body shot is the one chink in his arsenal.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on December 22, 2024, 12:06:00 AM2 maybe 3 stone outta shape, Not very professional disciplined on it. Used his mass to wear previous fighters out, to he came up against a actual proper skilled boxer. Did he even shake Usyk  hand after it, only seen limited highlights.
Sort of hugged him while Usyk was kneeling down after the fight.

Very enjoyable fight imo, Usyk won it for sure but Fury done rightly, probably needed to knock him out early though as he definitely gassed.

First fight I've watched in years, so obviously know little about it, but I'm seeing a few of you say that was a great fight - I thought it was boring, a few flurries towards the end, but in general, really don't understand the appeal.
Granted I don't know what I'm looking at, but usyk was the definite winner for me.

None of the judges gave Fury the 10th, which he definitely won. A draw would have been a fair result there.
'To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.'

ONeill

He didn't. Despite the whooping from the commentators for one Fury flurry, Usyk had already scored heavily with jabs.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

ONeill

The artifical Intelligence judge had it Usyk by 6 rounds.

I'd agree.

A draw? Christ,he was nowhere f**king near it. You men watch boxing once a blue moon?

In hiding

Watched Fury's post fight press conference.
What a bunch of cry babies

Look-Up!

Found it difficult to score myself. At the half way stage I thought it was tight and might have gave Fury the edge but it was really difficult to be certain. Fury landed the better shots I felt but Usyk was the busier and more offensive, landed more, finished the rounds stronger and is the reigning champion so judges will be looking at all that.

Second half of the fight no contest. Fury won 1 round, 2 at a stretch. At least that's how I saw it but again judging is subjective and although I gave Usyk most of the rounds they were still tight rounds and it wouldn't have taken many punches to swing the scoring. So I get why the Fury team might be a little put out on the scoring card but there is no way in hell he did enough to take a belt from a reigning champion because that would have been the real robbery.

Thought the fight was decent but lacked spark. Fury is a very good fighter, good feet for a bit man, good defence and hands. Combined with his freakish size he is a very very awkward customer for anyone but he's boring and cautious. Stamina is questionable too and I wouldn't class him as a brilliant attacking boxer. Usyk is a far superior fighter and seems a really humble guy so delighted for him.

Fury saying there isn't a mark on him in an interview after (as he sports a massive shiner)
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Face was fairly puffy too, the walloper 😆

Look-Up!

More marks on him than Usyk if that's their metric.

Disappointed at the lack of class from Fury and as for Warren the less said the better. Even complaining about the margin 116-112. It's really not that big a deal. It's only 2 disputed rounds from a draw when you think about it. If Fury was champion and lost his title fighting the way Usyk fought the meltdown would have been nuclear from them. Nonsensical stuff. The real loser was Oscar De La Hoya having to listen to that melt for 12 rounds.

What's the craic with the Conlan split. I had noticed Mick wasn't  Jamie's wedding so the writing must have been on the wall this past few months.

ONeill

Interesting one. Looks like Mick wants his own boxing business too. Can't see Mick getting back to the level he was nearly at.
