The draft is going along expected lines up to pick 6. Quarter back Joe Burrow going first to the Bengals. QB Tua Tagovailoa going to the Dolphins at 5 and qb Justin Herbert going to the Chargers at 6.

Cam taking his talents to Foxborough.

That changes things for the Patriots. They are only paying him 7.5 million dollars for the year.

The #Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes have agreed to terms on a 10-year extension worth $503 million, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. He gets $477M in guarantee mechanisms and gives the ability for Mahomes to have outs if the guarantee mechanisms arenít exercised. No trade clause

It must make Tom Brady wonder what he has given up over the years to play for the Patriots.

Eye watering figures however in 10/15 years time how will it look?

It is a static figure and not tied to a % of salary cap - the way pro sports is going he will be well down the list by the time his contract comes to an end.

Manny Ramirez had what was deemed a massive contract about 20 years ago worth $20m a year.

Chiefs cap is getting squeezed now

It doesn't matter at he'll sign a new one in 4/5 years anyway.

The numbers are astronomical but this is basically a baseball contract. It'll never be seen through. The "guarantee mechanisms" are supposedly all just player options.
