From a few posts on the First/last CDs you bought, I think this might generate some decent interest. Ill run the poll for a week and post the results, if there is enough interest.

SammyG

Depends. Blur are better live and make better albums, Oasis are a great singles band.

Puckoon

I absolutely agree with you, but the point is to pick one. And give a reason why.

Louth Exile

Can't believe I actually went with Blur, because I had said on the aforementioned thread, their best collection is better than the oasis equivalent.

Having said that...
- Definitely Maybe is better than any album blur ever produced.
- The Oasis CD singles were class
- Saw Oasis twice at the height of their powers and they wer v good, haven't seen Blur yet

OK if I have to pick, then Blur for their live shows.

From the Bunker

This is a real 90's argument! Blur had a bit more variety to them and were around with the early Manchester scene in the early 90s. Alburn has proven to be adaptable with further projects with Gorillaz. Oasis always played the bad boys while Blur played it cool.......Blur!

Cant believe you reckon blur make better albums.
Theres always at least 4 or 5 crap songs on each album.

But better live and more "fun"

For pure talent though, Oasis.
Ask me holy bollix

Puckoon

I havnt cast my vote yet, Im still undecided!

Oasis:
Couple of good musicians, One great musician and a monkey for a lead singer
Songs have a real "Anthem" kind of feel, you can always find an oasis song to suit your mood
Albums always have one or two crackers, Singles are superb. Rarely write a bad track.

Blur:
Graham Cox - talented
Damon Albarn - maybe even more talented
Couple of decent musicians.
Some stuff is not that great, some stuff is brilliant.
Maybe they are a little more fun than Oasis, whose music always seems kind of serious

Thats quite debatable. For more consistent sounding good music, maybe Oasis. Definitely not a clear cut winner in the talent stakes?

Rav67

Oasis by a country mile!

Puckoon

Dont look back in anger boys.

Which on the 1000 line up's  Oasis had would this be ?
Oasis are the Aslan of England
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.
