Lone Shark

Ulster seems to be the only website updated with this. Munster and Connacht have nothing, while the Leinster website appears to be crashing my computer.

Anyone with details - would love to get cracking with the odds for this?

Ball Hopper

Kilcummin will represent Kerry...led by Mike McCarthy.

Can't see them going far, to be honest.

Nemo Rangers best bet at this stage for Munster.

brokencrossbar1

Ballhopper, Nemo may be the team to beat but they could be in for a big surprise this weekend against Na Piarsaigh.  Asaike and Setanta are back from Down Under and have played in recent weeks.

#4
Ballina Stephenites and Charlestown play this weekend in the Mayo Senior Football final - Charlestown have had the edge over the past two years and have already beaten the Stephenites in the Group stage - not much between them though.Could well come to the battle between Ronan McGarrity and the young pretender at centrefield, Charlestown strong favourites
Shame that TG4 have chosen to screen a foregone conclusion up in Armagh instead of this potential humdinger.

I see that Killererin beat Salthill after a replay up in Galway to book a semi final berth against NUIG. Think it's Caltra and Milltown in the other semi

Shrewdness

The Roscommon Co.Final next Sunday, sees a repeat of last year's final, between reigning Connacht Champions St.Brigid's and St.Faithleach's.
Would be surprised if Frankie Dolan isn't lifting the Fahy Cup on Sunday evening.

Rossfan

Brids are favourites but the Failures are not without hope and their greater hunger might see them cause an upset.
I don't know the Connacht draw but I believe St Mary's (Carrick) the Laythrum Champs play the Sligo champions in the preliminary Round.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

bc1...Na Piarsaigh and Doheny's could stop the Nemo Rangers alright...but you'd still have Nemo favs.

An interesting note is that Nemo have 15 Cork titles...and 13 Munster Club titles...last year and 1977 being the two odd years out.

1977 was won by Thomond College by the way, featuring Pat Spillane, Mick Spillane and Brian Talty among others.

This time of year, you just don't know where to go, there are so many good games on !

Shrewdness

The champs of Leitrim and Sligo meet in preliminary round. The winner of that will play the Mayo champions in one semi final, with the Galway champions playing the Roscommon champions in the other semi.

What's this? Ballina adopting Kerry 'cute-hoorisms'?
What's the draw for Connacht club championship anyway?

Living in Belfast I went down to Ballycran to watch the preliminary Rd of the Ulster JHC - St Malachy's, Portadown (Armagh Champions) V Bredagh (Down Champions). This was a one sided game with St Malachey's totally dominating throughout the first half - playing wth the wind. But they only went in 2 pts up due to poor defening allowing Bredagh top grab a late goal.
In the second half St Malachy's dominated again and totally out played their oppondents from Down. They looked to have the game won when they were 2 pts up in injury time but with the last strick of the ball Bredagh got a goal. Portadown took the puck out and the whistle went. Heart break for the Armagh men who had been the better team throughout.!
Good luck to Bredagh in the next rouond but I'm sure they know they got out off gaol today!

I can't argue with that report at all. Portadown were the better team and Bredagh were very lucky to beat them and progress. We'll need to improve big time if we are to get past the Cavan Champions in the next round.

slow corner back

Over the weekend ahoghill won the antrim junior football and dunloy the intermediate football. Armoy won the junior hurling and face Na Magha of Derry next sunday while cushendun won the intermediate. Coincidentally Dunloy hurlers play the antrim senior hurling final next sunday against Loughgiel. If Dunloy progress  they could be looking at some fixture congestion on down the line.
