Can't believe nobody's mentioned Bill Sex of Kildare   My own favourite is Kerry's midfielder from the 80's, Ambrose O'Donovan.  I believe he played for a club called something like Gneevnaguilla().  Doesn't come much better than that!!

In hurling, Galway always unleashed a few strange ones, apart from Sylvie Linnane I remember watching a Murty Killyleagh.
