Ask in your club, I know my club (probably like most clubs) have a guy who can repair hurleys.

Have found TIGER SEAL to be the best of a few that have been tested in the past - strong and sets well but a little messy to work with like any kind of adhesive.

http://www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk/default.asp?go=1&shop=&dep=&cat=&prodid=3998 - but you can just buy it in a local motor factors place.

Buy a few g-clamps and apply one or 2 over the crack while the glue sets.

Also a small handheld belt sander is useful for removing the excess glue and smoothing everything off before re-banding (if needed).

There was a programe on RTE a few months ago called Hands and it featured Dowlings in Kilkenny and showed your man fixing the sticks with the pins and how to cut the new piece etc. You could check the programme archives and see if RTE have it.
