Changing subject

A wee question.  How do you change a subject title yet keep a thread going?

If you post the thread you can change the subject by clicking edit

It should be on the top of your first post

Not happening .  All I have is - REPLY   NOTIFY    MARK UNREAD      SEND TOPIC       PRINT

Under the title is -    QUOTE       MODIFY      DELETE

No EDIT anywhere

Tried this and changed the title ok - it only changes the first post also but not the last so I continue from there
