QuoteHe must have sung 100s. But only released 30 albums when alive. Co-wrote 'Love me tender' - but these facts are according to wikipedia......

He didn't write any songs, he was quite simply just a fantastic voice....

As was Sinatra, Martin, Caruso.  You say "just",  as if it was something commonplace. He sprung from an era when delivery was far more important than writing.
He was more than just a voice. He was a performer and despite the idiotic scripts in most of his movies, many serious movie buffs believe he had genuine acting talent and could have filled more substantial roles given the opportunity.

And for rock purists.......  read rock snobs

If Hugo Duncan had been born in Memphis he'd be the King of Kings. Though he'd probably have died of a cream bun overdose.

He'd be 75 but then Tom Jones is still going strong at 70.  You never lose the voice.

Its going to be 33 years since he died and I was wondering if Heat Magazine and all those celebrity magazines were out then, could they have saved is life?

Their charting of his weight gain would maybe have embarrassed him and those around him keep him trim.

I have more respect for a man
that says what he means and
means what he says...

I was just coming on to say that Big Tom is the King, but BINGOBUS beat me to it.

Here's to Geno, here's to Eddie
Here's to sad songs Big O sings
Here's a letter from Elvis Presley
Big Tom is still the King
