Preston North End won the league 19 years before Man Utd first won it. But it means feck all now....
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Ohhhh Frank Mc guigan
From the county of tie - roan

I'm a long way from Cavan, but "The Gallant John Joe", must be near the top of anyone's list.   The tribute to Nicky Rackard is a superb piece of writing.

MaroonAndWhite

I dreamt it'd wear the jersey
On all ireland final day
It'd stand out there in croke park
With a mighty part to play

We’d come out of the tunnel
To a great big galway roar
We’d have our picture taken
Head down to the goal

We’d line up with the captain
And march behind the band
And when they played the anthem
We’d face the flag, above the stand

Cos me heart is in maroon and white
It'll stick with what i know
Maroon and white forever
No matter where i go

And when the ball comes towards me
I turn and head for goal
And i stick it in the corner
Like a bullet hard and low

And i dreamt it'd hold the medal
So precious in my hand
With the people all around me
And the ghosts up in the stand

Then on monday evening
We’d bring the cup back home
Bonfires would be blazing
All along the road

Cos me heart is in maroon and white
It'll stick with what i know
Maroon and white forever
In hailstones, rain or snow

Yes maroon and white forever
That’s what i always say
Maroon and white of galway
Forever and a day.

Rossfan

Raise up the standard high
Wave banners to the sky
Follow them on through sunshine or rain
Then with a mighty roar
Let Erin know once more
Men of Roscommon are  marching again
(Provided we get rid of Maughan of course)
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

while not exactly football songs I have enjoyed being among Armagh supporters when the old canal end were all singing
' the boys from the county Armagh'

Also, like a banshee's cry, when you hear the Cork contingent singing 'The banks...' you know its near full time and you've lost!
In full voice, they are currently the best set of singing fans in the country. Dublin fans singing has become more muted in the past 15 - 20 years.

If there was ever an anthem for a county republic though, you'd have try and beat Donegal's 'Las Vegas in the hills of Donegal'.
If you listen to the lyrics, you will see they just dont likeanyone else but their own.
Having played with the Donegal Philadelphia team and full of Donegal folk - I know they mean every word they sing in the song !

With one or two notable exceptions the feeling is mutual.

Podge and Rodge's lover, Margo produced this classic in the run up to the 92 final
I suspect this was written in 10 mins on the back of a beer mat.

Walking Tall In Donegal – Margo O'Donnell

From Bundoran to the Rosses, Inishowen to Dungloe
We're walking tall in Donegal for everybody knows
We're in our first All-Ireland and we won't give up
'Til we cross the bridge in Lifford with the Sam Maguire Cup

When we came out of Ulster we left them all behind
We beat Cavan and Fermanagh and everything looked fine
When we met the men from Derry they gave us no chance at all
But the scoreboard read two points ahead when the ref called for the ball

From Bundoran to the Rosses, Inishowen to Dungloe
We're walking tall in Donegal for everybody knows
We're in our first All-Ireland and we won't give up
'Til we cross the bridge in Lifford with the Sam Maguire Cup

Then came the semi-final, we met Mayo from the West
They said we could not beat them for they were far the best
They said we had no answer for the man they called McHale
But Matt Gallagher ran round him like a small boat in a gale

From Bundoran to the Rosses, Inishowen to Dungloe
We're walking tall in Donegal for everybody knows
We're in our first All-Ireland and we won't give up
'Til we cross the bridge in Lifford with the Sam Maguire Cup

There's a football star in Donegal, he's called Martin McHugh
His brother James and Tony Boyle, they'll know what to do
Gary Walsh and Joyce McMullan, with their captain Molloy
With Declan Bonner and the rest, the Dubs we will destroy

But we can't forget the backroom boys and the bossman Brian McEniff
He spent 20 years, oh torrid years, with those words of 'only if'
To get our first All-Ireland, we must win one more match
If it comes our way we all can say it's Donegal's best catch

From Bundoran to the Rosses, Inishowen to Dungloe
We're walking tall in Donegal for everybody knows
We're in our first All-Ireland and we won't give up
'Til we cross the bridge in Lifford with the Sam Maguire Cup

We're walking tall in Donegal, with the Sam Maguire Cup
