at Windsor Park! ;D

Well done to Dungannon Swifts on a great victory over FK Suduva in the UEFA Cup last night at Windsor Park, showing the permanent tenants how to win a European game there. :P

The goal was scored by Portadown Tir Na Nog's Mark Mc Allister ser up by Pearse Og's Shea Campbell (now we know why he left Linfield, to experience a win in a European tie at Windosr ;D)and Fermanagh's Shane Mc Cabe and Ryan Mc Cluskey also featured for the Swifts. Congratulations to my old friend Harry Fay, Swifts Manager, who is surely the best manager in the Irish League.

Norf Tyrone

I haven't seen the line-up but I'd imagine Strabane Sigerson's JP Gallagher played left-back.
Owen Roe O'Neills GAC, Leckpatrick, Tyrone

He did indeed. Dungannon Swifts are practically a GAA team short of four players ;D

Actually he left Ballymena United to join Linfield, where he wasn't afforded a proper opportunity to show his true worth, and arrived at Dungannon in the close season via Armagh City and Glenavon as far as I recall.

The lad is a proven goalscorer and will regain his confidence. Its just a shame that lads like these are being lost to the Armagh GAA cause, yet is great to see what is essentially a GAA side win a European game in Belfast when the so called big two of Linfield and Glentoran can't beat anyone in europe there ;D

the legacy and spirit of Joey Cunningham lives on eh Tony  ;)

This thread is clearly untrue. Tony has told us, many times, that any Nationalist who goes to WP will be killed and these players (and supporters) are still alive.  ???

"Northern Ireland Soccer in Monoculturalism Shocker - Again!"  :o

"If you come in here again, you'd better bring guns"
"We don't need guns"
"Yes you fuckin' do"

Monoculturalism applies to the composition of the IFA Executive and North of Ireland support at so called international games at Windsor Park. Soccer is a global game, enjoyed by both communities in the six counties...in spite of the IFA

Monoculturalism applies to the composition of the Ulster Council of the GAA and supporters, players, officials and administrators at Gaelic games played in Northern Ireland. Gaelic Football is a parochial game, enjoyed in Northern Ireland only by one community... in no small part due to the policies, practices and preferences of the GAA

not when the unionist/loyalist peoples have a self imposed ban on playing Gaelic games it appears

on the other hand you have the establishment ifa trying to discourage nationalist/catholics from playing

not the same at all is it !

Tell you what, LynchBoy, let us know when you've finally reached the depths of your profound misunderstanding.

You're right, soccer and GAA aren't the same at all - OK, local soccer doesn't have the following that GAA has (local soccer has vast competition from cross-channel professional soccer, so you can't compare like for like), but there's huge participation in all sorts of soccer leagues.

The teams in the Irish League are largely mixed, that simply can't be said for GAA clubs - finding an Ulster Prod playing in a GAA match up here would be as likely as finding the Pope being guest preacher at the Martyrs Memorial.
