Beware! I recently bought one of those Vodafone UK thingy cards to use to access the internet on my laptop..... Deal was £25 per month as long as I didn't exceed 250MB. Fine I thought. Was in Dublin and was using the Vodafone.ie network (as the device picks up the local network) - sent a few emails with attachments to Belfast....Bill came in on Saturday.....£54.36 for the Roaming Charge... the things they don't tell ya in the shops ...total rip-off!!!

3 has the best deal for 3G as they don't seem to charge any extra on any of their networks in Ireland, UK, or Italy. But when roaming you can only get the free deal on the 3 network itself, so 3 ireland let you use Voda Irl in parts of the country where there is no 3 network, but if you come with a 3UK phone you can't use Voda Irl free.

In general the EU should limit data charges are they are proposing to limit call charges, some of the data roaming charges are ridiculous and the best of them are at least outrageous.
