Nørgaard would be the Rice deputy, hopefully he gets his change if Rice can't play

ONeill

6 points playing fairly poorly. Some say the sign of winners but it doesn't look like that.

Current style of play isn't very attractive atall.

Would flip his starting philosophy on its head and start Jesus and bring on Gyokeres. The poor fella still looks lost.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Think when Gabriel comes back will be the start of the top form revival.
Seriously missed for his defence and his threat up front

Puckoon

As good a player as Lewis-Skelly is, he sure gets himself caught up in a mess at least once a game.

Palace showing less fear this half.

ONeill

Another nervy one. Hard to see how they can beat Villa in current form for both.

Arsenal actually playing well. Just not finishing chances created while Villa are overachieving based on metrics but Emery has a habit of that.

ONeill

You were both correct.

Gabriel makes a difference.

Who will win the 2026 Premier League title?

Arsenal. They have the best squad, and everything is in place for them to end a 22-year wait. If they do it, it will be built on the spine of the team and solid foundations laid by their goalkeeper, centre-backs and Declan Rice.

But it's not going to be straightforward, as their recent form shows. There is an ongoing problem of a worrying injury record. For some reason, they always seem to be more impacted than their main title rival and it's started to happen again.

Manchester City do not have the same quality on the bench as Arsenal, but when Pep Guardiola has his best starting XI available they can embark on a title-winning run, especially with Erling Haaland in electrifying form. City are reminding me of Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United. There were occasions when United were not always playing the best football in a particular season, but they had that know-how about how to win the league, so if they were still in the hunt in late March they would get the job done. If City are still within touching distance of Arsenal by then, Guardiola will be confident and Arsenal – especially their fans – will be nervous. That could yet be a decisive factor.

Wonder if there is a time when Arteta wavers on who his starting striker is. At the minute he's 100% so far on Gyokeres. And I suppose it's working in that there are some things he's doing well, and the last match he finally was getting onto the end of things. And then there's the option of changing styles completely with Jesus. And now Havertz will be pushing.

There's just that niggle that Gyokeres should be doing more as a finisher.

What did you call the French striker in 98 who didn't do a pile in the World Cup but because the system worked he kept starting?

I think Mikel is eventually going play Jesus and Havertz, I get the sense that Gyokeres isn't his signing. But the pressure that gets put on the defence when he goes off isn't spoken about enough.

He pins the defenders back, yes he might not score but he creates that space where defenders can't step up. It's Guivarc'h you're thinking off for France 98, they also had similar recently with Giroud where he didn't score all tournament but made the space for Mbappe and co to do their thing
