Quote from: tyroneStatto on February 15, 2026, 05:48:12 PMCan't believe Cavan gave Darragh Canavan the amount of space they did.

I think it Was a bad sign how Cavan let Tyrone take over down the stretch, and especially widen the gap on the scoreboard. With 2 losses already I would have thought Cavan would have worked far harder to at least try to keep the losing margin down. The fact that Tyrone outscored them 8 points to 1 in the final quarter and so many of the Tyrone scores came after weak lazy Cavan defending is not a good sign for their survival prospects. Themselves and Offaly both with 3 losses now and score differences of -15 (Cavan) and -19 (Offaly) are in serious relegation trouble.
Cavan are useless. Seen Tyrone hammer them in championship in Omagh last year and when they met later Cavan cynically targeted Michael McKernan. Not unheard of for Cavan down the years but have no football to back it up.

Real classy post there, I'd say all the Division 1 teams along with some Division 2 teams would say Tyrone are useless too. It's all relative I guess, plus McKernan no angel himself.
He was targetted, wrecked after 4 minutes and off to hospital. Needed an operation on that shoulder since.
Considering Tyrone got to the All Ireland semi-final last year can't think who'd say they're useless... maybe Kerry though they beat everyone handy enough.

Borh red cards in the Derry game poor decisions. Certainly didn't look like Glass struck anyone. Alex Beirne was shoved in the back and turned around and got sent off for it. Derry man did a Neymar.

Conor Doherty picked up one of the most moronic black cards you'll ever see.

Neither of those were red cards in the Derry Kildare game both men went down very easily!

Only one of them was literally rolling on the ground and smacking his hands off it. Mortifying stuff.

Secondly even against the wind (makes Flynns score more impressive) we should not be giving up a 11 point lead , after halftime tbh I think the players felt job done just control it hit on brake and win by 4/5, that's a bloody dangerous game particularly with 2 pointers. And dare I say foolish and naive add to that a few injuries and replacements and you have disaster. Also to give Louth credit mulroy would walk onto any team in country I include Kerry and Dublin in that. In my opinion one of the top 5 forwards in the country.
Now I'm probably going to get another ahh the ref was even handed malarkey here. But by jasus the standard of refs is getting worse by the game. The 4 black cards ? Rafferty wasn't even involved and tried to brake it up , there was no fists , pushing and dragging yes. A couple of yellow cards would have been sufficient. 4 black cards was nonsensical. Also late in the game ref pulled for a breach. There was non certainly not interfering with play. Louth get a 2pt from it. Honestly this may pass in division 2 but what happens when it's championship. They'll be all out war if it was Kerry.
Moving on Meath on 6pts now and should fingers crossed get promoted. Cork in cork. That will be fun.

Really? He scored 0-9 all from frees, something I have always thought is a regular occurrence with Mulroy. Really good player but he does 90% of his damage from the dead ball. Darragh Canavan kicked 0-9 today with only 1 free. I don't think mulroy could lace the boots of Canavan, Conaty, McGuigan, Finnerty, Walsh, Clifford x2, Con, Morris etc. then you can debate the likes of enda smith, Sean O'Shea, McCurry, Ryan odonoghue, Luke Loughlin

Only an opinion but it's something I noticed a few years ago and look out for with Mulroy all the time, you'd be surprised how little he gets from play

Captain Scarlet

I'm glad it was highlighted and more should be done to call it out.
There were a couple more over the terrace side guilty of flops too.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Wildweasel74

Talk Mulroy down if u want. I still have that freetaking capability in our team, we got nothing for consistant right footed frees.

Where would Louth be without Mulroy?
How would Mulroy perform playing with Galway , Kerry ...?

He's an elite footballer

I agree with that, he does get in any team in the country too, I just think top 5 in the game is too much
