Massive. Tough result for Cavan but credit Meath with that response.

That's two gut punches for Cavan.
From a Kildare POV I'm happy as it suits us with a win and 2 teams on 0 points.

Tyrone cant really slip up again or else they will be down here for another year.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Cork and Meath going well so far. The only  gimme for Tyrone is playing Offaly in Dungannon. Based on results so far all the other games for Tyrone are 50/50. Imagine having to beat Louth and/or Cavan to stay out of the Tailtean cup!

Some catastrophizing going on with section of Tyrone supporters. Is no middle ground.. result to result, either we'll win Sam or it's the end of the world.
Will beat most of those Div 2 teams handy enough. The Leinster teams are very poor. Maybe Cork be better than them. Will easily make the Sam Maguire Cup competition. Let there be no panic  8)

Not sure about that. Could have easily lost to Kildare, should have been beaten by far more by derry. Meath or cork won't be easy either.

Meath are terrible. I agree Cork could be more difficult, the rest are very poor

Quote from: JPO on January 29, 2026, 07:26:45 PMMeath should get promoted. Let's hope for footballs sake that they do. Watching Conor Glass repeatedly jogging a few yards sideways then handpassing to a teammate during the Meath game only highlighted how pointless the Derry style of play is. What was the point of Glass being on the field at all?

*Bump*

Well they've a fair chance of getting to an Ulster final.

Tough surely, but when McKernan popped over the handiest of points when a player was out to his right bearing down on goal,I wondered should they not have went for the jugular and would it come back to bite them (alot of football played after that of course)

Quote from: Aaron Boone on January 31, 2026, 09:43:26 PMI know the bottom two drop into the Tailteann, but I hope that rule is relaxed this year if Tyrone end up up in that position.

It wouldn't sit well provincially, or indeed nationally, if Tyrone weren't in their rightful place fighting for Sam Maguire.

Good call, except it's not the bottom two, it usually ends up being the bottom 3 at the very least and very possibly the bottom 4.
Actually for once it seems the 16 will be the Top 14 of the top 2 divisions, and the 2 promoted teams (provided Kildare stay in Division 2) as the provincial draws see practically no route for any Division 3 or 4 teams to make a final. So for once since this system, It'll highly likely be the top 14 and 2 promoted teams who make it

14th March in Healy Park. 2nd last game for Tyrone so will be important. Pitch hopefully not a swamp at that stage

Meath v Tyrone is in Croker
Tyrone next 3 are Cavan (h), Louth (a) & Offaly (h)
3 wins required, would set it up well for a Meath tussle

What sort of nonsense is this? What do you mean exactly and show where?

How would it work if Kildare (as Tailteann Cup champions) were to be relegated from D2? Would the team in 6th miss out on the AI?

If Kildare do, It would be the Division 3 final runners up as they're the 16th ranked team in League at that point. 6th are 14th ranked

First off great win at the death. Some balls from Flynn to go for that score , up until last year the lack of confidence would have made no one want to take it. That been said for me the score of the game was Kinsella looking up seeing keeper out and lobbing him for the goal. Some nordie on sg saying it was fortuitous (bs) he went for it, if that had been Clifford or con they'd be praising it for weeks.
Anyway we nearly left it behind us , some shocking wides . Cavan in fairness  gave it everything, and the ref in fairness tried his best for them too. But it wasn't to be. I've a funny feeling they will stay up. On the other games Derry winning wasn't a real shock think Tyrone are in a bit of disarray between the old established players and blending in the new lads, a hard act to juggle in such a competitive division.
Our bogey team is next up, the dreaded Louth on Valentine's Day. Terrible record against them over last couple of years, that been said a small bit of revenge will I believe happen.
Looking further ahead while not getting carried away I think promotion is definitely on, Kildare are going very well and the players seem to be playing for their management which they weren't previously (bit like ourselves) and we could have a double Leinster promotion, cork as always are a enigma , but I just think we can beat them. But everything said it's division 2 anything can and could happen.
