Kerry embraced the advice of the average bar stool pundit as regards 2 pointers and it worked a treat. So obvious yet many coaches still went with caution.

Was v impressive how they went about it, though not sure I enjoy Clifford reduced to "one touch over the bar" finisher.

Pass the ball around the arc until you get a shooter free- similar to the old rules except the arc is a bit further out. It is class to watch the likes of Clifford/O'Shea etc pinging one from 40 yards but the endless handpassing beforehand is shite.

Yes I think its not perfect but definitely a more optimistic game.

The new league should be interesting to see if the new rules have settled into this pattern or if new tactics emerge.

Hopefully Tyrone can develop into a side worthy of some classic games[Vs Kerry] in years to come.

Kerry missing Tom O'Sullivan, Paudie Clifford, Diarmuid O'Connor, Paul Geaney, Dara Moynihan, Barry Dan O'Sullivan, Sean O'Shea, Tadgh Morley and Mike Breen for most of last year. All be fully fit for this year.
Kerry had most of those players back by the time they met Cavan in the preliminary quarter-final. Their reserve team could win Munster.. not even a Division 1 team in Munster so is no big challenge to the quarter-final.

If the likes of Donegal or Glenullin sit inside the arc and won't come out to engage.....
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Well thats it too. Shite too watch and realistically does no favours- old rules you could play like that and stay within touching distance, now if a team has the players they'll take the risk of a longer shot for more reward and build up a lead. Surely Jimmy will have a better plan this year.

Surely Tyrone best placed to be Kerry's biggest challenger. Weren't a million miles away in the Semi Final and have the players coming through.

Went with the advice or simply happen to have two of the best two point shooters around in David Clifford,Sean O'Shea?

DaleCooper

We like to talk ourselves into it but they held Tyrone at arms length last year.

Its Kerrys size and power now as well, Tyrone have men coming but its too soon. Its v tricky assignment for MOR.
