Just one polish lad. Karol McGuigan, and then Wawrynkiewicz. He has a bit about him. Was still a minor this year. Id expect to see him in Tyrone U20s next year. Prospect.

That lad must have a nickname cause there's no way Ginolas small brain able to say that when reading out the team!
They will take Drumragh by 10+ and the same in the final!

Quote from: ClubScene13 on October 07, 2025, 11:26:22 AMWould expect Cuchullain's of Cavan to be strong and Monaghan as well at intermediate level. What of Down - Pat Havern's club are in the final have they much pedigree in senior? St Paul's and Sarsfields in Armagh seem to be stronger than most years Armagh side too, could be a decent competition.

Havern's club Saval won the IFC in 2022. Solid pedigree at IFC level and would have floated a good bit between it and SFC. Armagh's Martin O'Rourke is in charge of them. They will be facing a Division 3 club in the Down final, either Annaclone or Clann na Banna who have gone to a replay.

Quote from: God14 on October 06, 2025, 04:23:39 PMIs Marty Murray, Ray Mulgrew and John Gilmore still playing?

No.

All young lads, any/many in the 25-35 bracket?
Very few 25+ in the team. New management roaded anyone over 25 at the beginning of the year which caused a row within the club - a few have been able to come back on board. But going by the quarter final only players over 25 would be Danny McElhatton in goals, Matthew McNeil and Matthew Carberry.

Did they actually make 25 an arbitrary line in the sand, thats absolute wildness
Even the likes of Marty Murray, the man is evergreen, look he's played up and down the divisions, one of their best ever, bit of a character, unless he retired why would you road someone with a bit of personality and bags of experience - suppose they thought they would plough through Junior handy with or without these lads and putting a 30+ yo in a jersey a 21yo could be wearing blocks development of the 21yo, there is likely some truth in it but its up to the 21yo to win the jersey too
How many of the 2024 minor team would be nailed on starters this evening in Tyrone semi final?
Darragh McHugh, Luke Neeson, Karol Wawrynkiewicz and Conall Sheehy. Lorcan McMurray would also but he is a long term injury. Have another four on the bench.

Cookstown very lucky to escape with a draw last night. Referee very good to them and in the second half the umpires waved a two point score from Drumragh wide. Replay Saturday at 2.

Both were promoted this year to be fair. CnB beat Saval already this championship and put Longstone in the last round. Clone beat Rostrevor too, so a win for which ever of those teams get through on Thursday wouldn't be a shock. Saval would still be favourites though

Brendan

Doire Trasna or Slaughtmanus to come out of Derry Junior, neither will be a patch on last years Derry reps Craigbane

Self proclaimed favourites for Junior Ulster - Cookstown knocked out in Tyrone semi final by Drumragh.

Wildweasel74

Moneyglass and St Agnes Antrim winners yesterday

Emyvale v Sean McDermotts in Monaghan junior final. Emyvale have been red hot favourites from the start of the year. They have some injuries to county men Ryan McAnespie and Michael Hamill who've not played in the junior championship so far. Also Karl Gallagher has not yet returned from Oz after being released by Adelaide. County U20's Andrew Stuart and Johnny Wright also just returning from injury for Emyvale. TBH, Emyvale imploded last year after being thought of as contenders for the Intermediate championship. Hard to fathom how they fucked it up so bad given the talent they have.

Seans are workman like and try hard but lack quality.

Carrickmacross v Killanny in Intermediate final. A repeat of 2 years ago where Killanny won a very negative game of ball. Carrick have rattled up big scores this year and Stephen O'Hanlon has just returned from injury. Though Killanny's Ronan  Grimes is more than capable of marking O'Hanlon. I expect a more free flowing game than 2 year ago. Carrick a much more rounded team this year and Andy Callan has got them playing much better football.

Is Pauric McGurik still playing for McDermotts?

He is still playing. I think he's about 34/35 now but he is still very much the driving force of the Sean's team. If Seans are to win, they need him to play well. A bit of a weird one is that Niall Kearns has transferred back to Seans from Australia but not sure think he's actually back in Ireland yet, though rumours are abound he's back. Three years ago he basically carried that team to the junior title before he went travelling. If Kearns is back, that could be a game changer for Seans.

Pauric played for my club in Liverpool for a number of years. A colossus of a man.
