They will eat their cake, and they will have their cake, in that order, whether anyone likes it or not

4th in league at that, very interesting. I noticed a few weeks ago our friends in Arva giving last year's county champions a serious rattle in a senior quarter final a mere 20 months after climbing the Hogan to lift a junior All Ireland, what a meteoric rise

Cavans junior champions are division 3.

But by going by some of you's lads metrics we should be entering the strongest division 3 side which would be Denn who won Ulster Club last year.

Click on link above and click drop down menu and click division 2A to see Arva's league results the year they went down to junior.

They would have been relegated via the league to division 3 too only there was no relegation that year due to it being a COVID year as far as I'm aware.

They were barely scoring in some games in the league. Were slightly better in championship but ultimately went down via a relegation playoff.

Perfect storm then with players back from injury a young crop coming through and players back from emigration meant they had a team good enough to get promoted via division 2 and steamroll their way through a junior in 2022 but get caught in the final.

They then improved further in 2023 and won junior at a center.

Anyways most of you are not interested in the above as it doesn't suit your agenda.

Arva would have been junior on merit under any system in any county that Im aware of.

That team was just resting in division 3

Very few 25+ in the team. New management roaded anyone over 25 at the beginning of the year which caused a row within the club - a few have been able to come back on board. But going by the quarter final only players over 25 would be Danny McElhatton in goals, Matthew McNeil and Matthew Carberry.

Did they actually make 25 an arbitrary line in the sand, thats absolute wildness
Even the likes of Marty Murray, the man is evergreen, look he's played up and down the divisions, one of their best ever, bit of a character, unless he retired why would you road someone with a bit of personality and bags of experience - suppose they thought they would plough through Junior handy with or without these lads and putting a 30+ yo in a jersey a 21yo could be wearing blocks development of the 21yo, there is likely some truth in it but its up to the 21yo to win the jersey too
How many of the 2024 minor team would be nailed on starters this evening in Tyrone semi final?

Darragh McHugh, Luke Neeson, Karol Wawrynkiewicz and Conall Sheehy. Lorcan McMurray would also but he is a long term injury. Have another four on the bench.

Heard Marty Murray took it bad - transferred to a team in Belfast?
Think they have 2 polish lads from the minors starting noticed 2 x Karols on the teamsheet.
Jayo told them to listen to his philosophy and he would sort the basket club out - said hed march them up the hogan stand in consecutive years.... looks like he is heading that way!

Mark your calendars - 2 degrees are booked for Dunleath Mon 20th October!
