He didn't really threaten too much but I don't think I've ever seen a footballer with a "tidier" solo than McElholm. Even at his quite considerable top speed it's blindingly fast and clean.

Kilcoo just too powerful all over the field and with more players capable of scoring. Shealan Johnston was terrific in the first half and then barely noticed in the second as someone else stepped up.

Kilcoo definitely have it in them to win it all again, but they'll need to improve on tonight.

Outclassed by good bit as expected.

How difficult is it for officials to control the number of balls on field?

Every time a ball is kicked into the terrace, the keeper picks up another one to attempt a quick restart.

How you'd expect the officials to control when and where that ball is returned, I'm not sure.

Ball catchers would prevent 90% of that. Don't know why they aren't in place in Omagh. Definitely hampered their own County champions in this case. They were looking to get the ball away quick most of the time but couldn't.

It's a regular kilcoo tactic when they  are playing into the wind or need to slow things down.
it was a kilcoo tactic to get loughmacrory supporters to kick the ball back on?? It was happening at both ends, it will always happen when you've got a group of young teenagers behind the nets, they're all looking to get a kick of the ball and get it back over the wire.
Don't know why the gaa don't get young ball boys to help get any extra balls off the field.

On the match itself, Kilcoo never looked in any danger, apart from a late couple of scores they always kept loughmacrory at arms length

It would be absolutely trivial to achieve. Enda McGinley insinuated it was coordinated to stop quick restarts. As others point out it happened kilcoo kickout in second half, there was one where it was obvious first half lad threw ball in front of keeper.

Throw kids out of ground & maybe fine parents and itd stop fairly quick I would imagine.

The tale of the tape is I think Kilcoo had 8 different scorers, mightn't seem like
Much vs Lough 5 but I always think it reflects a teams overall dominance and ability to find scores to get to that many.

The balls in the pitch thing was a balls, it's fairly easy to think it was a kilcoo tactic (whether it was or wasn't) as they've used every other one in the book in different occasions.

So you're going to throw kids out of a ground for returning a football?

Are you going to have a team of stewards who can identify and isolate the "offenders" and provide each other back up for the inevitable nonsense that would follow whereby they can't lay hands on children? Or maybe you've a terminator style teenager of Eastern European descent in mind, who'll wade in and protect the sanctity of the game, without falling foul of child abuse allegations?

The mind boggles.

Put fkn nets behind the goals like at hundreds or thousands of pitches.

Shakes head.....
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Kilcoo a streetwise team and expected winner tonight however would still have expected better from the Tyrone champions with a mere 0-11 with McElholm and McCullagh in their forward line.

If they charged just a few quid more for tyronegaa tv they'd be able to afford catch nets.

Kilcoo showed their quality, composure and craft it was always going to be hard for the Lough after lifting their maiden championship.
