Do you think how the wexford Kilkenny match was delayed last year and a Kilkenny goal disallowed to prevent wexford from being relegated after antrim beat Westmeath do you think it was done on purpose to prevent uproar

Personally I found this very suspicious and honestly think it was done to prevent uproar of a traditional leinster Championship side being relegated to the joe mcdonagh cup, the same happened after laois beat dublin in 2019 they increased the number of teams in the Leinster championship

You do have a very good point I think that the gaa are afraid that the structures would be questioned if the likes of Wexford were relegated.

Honestly my main query with the current structure is why is there a playoff if kerry win the joe mc how is that fair that after winning they still might not get into munster.
Also I think the connaught and ulster championships should be brought back for the weaker counties or maybe wven allow Antrim or galway to enter a second team or a team from only from junior and intermediate clubs

Just as I was talking about this I find an article in the irish independent today on how wexford and waterford are drifting away from the top table.
Waterford and Wexford falling behind

To make it worse Westmeath beat Wexford that year it should have came to head to head that being said Westmeath have gone back a good bit

Here what it says;

Before the final round-
robin games in the
2023 provincial hurling
championships, Wexford
and Waterford both looked
to have backed themselves into a
corner
Wexford had capitulated against
Westmeath in the penultimate round,
losing a 16-point lead to put their Liam
MacCarthy Cup status in serious jeop
ardy
They required a last-day win over
Kilkenny in Chadwicks Wexford Park
a Kilkenny team that was virtually as-
sured of a Leinster final place by then
anyway but were not of a mind to be
benevolent to their neighbours.
Further down the south coast, Wa-
terford were in a bind that didn't have
the spectre of relegation from the top
tier hanging over them but with loss-
es to Cork, Limerick and Clare, their
woeful round-robin record was com-
pounded. However on the same Sun-
day afternoon, a couple of hours apart
there was resurrection.
Wexford, powered on by a tour de
force from Lee Chin, especially in the
final 10 minutes when the pressure
was at its most intense, survived with
a magnificent win over Kilkenny.
And Waterford delivered only their
second round-robin win in the four
years of its existence by springing a
