Tyrone will use up a lot of energy in a effort to get a positive result against Donegal. Up against a rested Mayo the following week isn't ideal.

Malachy O'Rourke is the only manager who has beaten McGuinness in a senior Ulster championship match, although Jim got his revenge the following year.

This tie is always 50/50. Tyrone will be well-rested after a putting up a very good show against Armagh.

After that, we've still got Cavan and Mayo. I'd expect us to beat Cavan with a few to spare (although Cavan have surprised us a few times over the years), but we haven't beaten Mayo in the championship since 2012 (think we might have a single league win in that time).

I'd be happy to get through with a win and two draws.

Galway and Armagh beat two of those teams by a point. I don't think there's a whole lot between ourselves and either Tyrone or Mayo, and I'm sure either would back themselves against most of the contenders on a given day. Whether either of them have enough firepower to go all the way is a different issue. And that's where we fell short last year in the last ten against Galway.

Anyway, I'm not convinced we have enough to edge Galway or Kerry in Croke Park. Hope I'm wrong obviously...
