Will there be an option to completely scrap skorts? I only ask as my daughter has returned to camogie after a year or so out and she has decided she wants to wear the skort. Don't want to buy it and then be told next week that skorts are gone.

I'd say it'll be choice.

In games then, everyone will wear shorts.

The vote at the special congress will be to either retain the status quo, i.e. skorts only as acceptable attire or give each individual the choice either wear a skort or shorts, so you could have some players on a team wearing a skort and others on the same team wearing shorts.

Our club let the adult camogs decide and a lot still wanted the option of wearing skorts and I think that's where the previous Tipp motion fell down, that motion was more or less banning skorts and going 100% for shorts.

It's unclear what the issues were with the GB motion back in 2024 as the new one looks like a rehash of that.

Quare craic if the new one is voted down as well. Where would that leave us?

Like the Lisbon Treaty, re-run it until you get the right result.

Also like the Lisbon Treaty, change the motion and it'll pass.

Now for the implementation which is not straight forward to say the least.

Shorts and skorts must be the same colour, same style and have the camogie association crest on the same side..

Does this mean all current skorts are defunct?

I'd imagine that there are no shorts that currently within that spec so the manfactures will be busy over the next few weeks. You would wonder what it will mean for this weekend games if there is any.

They'll just wear county shorts like the ladies teams do.

Or can do what the men do and wear whatever shorts that are the designated colour

The shorts will need to have the camogie crest on them after the 1st of July. There is a grace period up until that point.

Now, just put on a pair big enough to cover your modesty which was my biggest gripe with the skort...

Does LGFA players have the LGFA crest their shorts?

At county or club level?

seafoid

The next thing will be what colour shorts. Kerry ladies gaelic football team have black shorts so not to draw attention to when players are on their period. White togs score poorly on this aspect.
