Any chance Tipp will offer Kilkenny a replay over the scoring blunder?  ;D

A mess at the end with the scoreboard. KK were clearly going for goals, thinking they needed 1, instead of tapping over a couple of scores.

Jacqui asking Cummins what he thought about it and he waffled about KK people being honourable people etc. Then she didn't ask the other 2 what their opinion was. Tried to gloss over it.

Real good game. Goals win matches but KK were very sloppy in last 10 mins - a couple of poor passes by Reid and Deegan. A few showers made things tricky for both sides. Huge effort and intensity. Tipp's ff line got the scores although their free-taking needs a better conversion rate. Connolly was good out the field with Maher in at full back. Connolly got a few points also. Versatile lad. Mc Grath is still class. Has the vision. Silly 2nd yellow for Mc Carthy - will Cahill trust him in the final with his petiness. He very young still but got caught again.

TJ was excellent. He,in that form, could go on for another 2 years...a lá Ronaldo. Mullan was slack but as he knew he was getting hooked, he got 2 quick points. Mossy is, well...Mossy and got 5 or 6pts. Works hard.

All in all, a good physical battle.

Well if that don't bate all.. labelling your county a disgrace for one shock defeat after winning five of the last seven All Ireland titles and multiple All Stars. And hadn't won an All Ireland before this era since 1973! You must have been some player sur..
There's no sugar coating it, it was a shocking result.

Certainly was a shock result and after yesterday looks like it was a massive one-off fluke.
You said 'disgrace' though... after all they've achieved, to label that team as a disgrace...

I see a lot of the Limerick lads doing analysis on tv etc. nowadays i.e. Flanagan and Morrissey.

Seems strange to me. Lads usually wait until they retire.

Or maybe that's the new 'thing' nowadays?

Tipp scored their 4th goal at 69min.  One minute later they shot a wide which RTE registered as a point.  I assume Croke Park did too.

I was watching it just after that, thinking Kilkenny needed a goal to tie and glanced at the scoreboard and was surprised to see a 4 point difference.  I figured that wide must have been a point and I missed it.

For once I was right LOL!  Didn't know it.

But what a serious blunder.

Premier Emperor

The serious blunder was by Kilkenny, letting in four goals and finding themselves 4...3 points behind.  ;D

johnnycool

They're trying to pin it on one of the umpires who reached up to catch the ball off the net from the wide shot...

Utter pish as even at a decent club game nowadays you need to raise the white flag for every point.

I'd presume the sideline official also keeps the score along with the referee nowadays, so, is it them who keeps the scoreboard and RTE correct?

The two yesterday both looked very poor. Tipp would need a much better performance to even threaten cork. Kk as bad as they have been in years - they were just walked through for the goals.

seafoid

Cork will go for goals. It could be a massacre.

seafoid

Where do Kilkenny go from here? They can't seem to go past the semifinal stage for Leinster winners. They haven't won an all Ireland since 2015.

gallsman

They were in the AI final (and leading at half time I think) two years ago ffs.

That said, yesterday was very, very poor and I'd be surprised if Lyng stays on.

jez so many of the tipps scores in the final 10 mins was due to brutal play by Kilkenny..giving ball away cheaply and little intensity in the tackle..so un-KK like..
camera flashed to Brian Cody a few times in the stand, id say he was raging :)

I'd fancy Cork but very much doubt it will be a massacre. Its not Dublin they'll be playing in the final and Kilkenny didn't manage to put one goal past Tipp yesterday.

I wasn't making excuses for Kilkenny.  The red card was the turning point in the game but not what was expected.  Tipp turned up their intensity, while KK seemed almost passive down the stretch.  As if the red card guaranteed them the win and they could simply coast home.

Back to the scoreboard: shouldn't it be standard procedure for each team to keep a representative at the scoring table to immediately catch any mistakes?  I could imagine something like this happening at the 1925 semi final, however in the modern era...yikes!
