The weekend concept was abandoned, years ago, not out of concern about player welfare, but because the general behaviour had become completely out of hand over the years. Putting several hundred completely drunken students into a hotel on a Sunday night & trying to feed them had become ahem....quite a challenge. I think the GAA stepped in & knocked it all on the head, as the reputational damage mounted lol.

Students being students! Crazy, but for them the best of memories and craic, yes there is a competition to be won but who doesn't love being involved in a tournament of the weekend away with the lads!!

This is were PC has taken us! Our hurlers were in Dublin the other weekend (I've just recovered) but it was good craic and a game too, the hosts put up food and entertainment! No one died or arrested

Bring back the Weekend Colleges games!!

Thanks to TG4 stream info it's now known Queens v UL will be played Thursday at 6pm in  DCU Sports Centre, Dublin
