Other semi on 26th, Four Masters v Fr Rocks Cookstown

Magherafelt won the U16 Paul McGirr Ulster Championship last weekend as well, doing something right up there.

Magherafelt have won a lot of underage titles in Derry - going back 40 years.

Always very strong and in A grade. Big nationalist town with huge numbers.

Seem to have the usual problem of big towns of bringing that many through to senior and pushing on. A really good Div. 1 senior team but 1 senior championship a few years back (beat Glen IIRC?)

But definately putting the work in at underage but numbers definately help. Convent and St. Piux's in the town also helps. 1 at Mac Rory level and the other at Mac Larnon level. Strong at football with good tradition.

Any Ulster minor Inter county league early next year before the championship starts?

That's a bit of a myth to be fair. We've won 7 Derry minor championships in total but 3 have been in the last 4 years. This has been the first time ever we've had a sustained spell of talented and successful teams and not just at minor level. It's down to good work throughout the club and hopefully the success will lead to a successful senior team.

Ulster Final FT

RossaGaels Derry 0-10

Four Masters Donegal retain the Ulster Minor Club (tho with it moving from U17 to U18 this year, is it technically a retention). Still, a huge achievement, congrats 👏

I think with it moving a year up, along with ALL players and coaching staff, it's definitely a retention

Fonacab St. Pauls Tournament Ulster Semifinal
34mins FULL TIME
Clontibret : 0-20 (20) (0-1-18)
Bredagh: 3-8 (17) (3-0-8)

I assume the winners of the other semi on 26th December between Dungiven & Dromintee will be heavy favourites.

Curious what that's based on. I'm not really up on the minor club scene in other counties across the province

Dromintee won the Ulster U16 Paul McGirr Tournament in Dromore 2 years ago. A Derry poster or 2 reckoned Dungiven were hot pre-Tournament favs.

Funnily enough the only poster I saw mention this was from Armagh.
