05- tyrone v Dublin replay. The noise from the dub supporters when coming back was something I've never heard since.

08. Tyrone v Dublin. The win in the rain was totally unexpected from my view point. Hitting dubs for goals was great to see

Two great choices. The noise from the Dublin fans in the first one when they hit those five points in a row to come back into it - then silence when Mugsy answered with the goal and celebrated by staring down the Hill. As iconic in its own way as the goal in the first game!

And 2008 was an incredible team performance.

My own favourite was the 2005 final. Some in Kerry - some very high in Kerry - had denigrated Tyrone after 2003 (chairman making comments in 2004 about saving the sport). Seeing Kerry simply unable to cope with Tyrone in 2005 was the most beautiful answer. The 3 point margin of defeat flattered Kerry and truth was that Tyrone were just a better team with better players.

2002 without a shadow of a doubt. It was pure and utter euphoria. Young enough to get totally immersed in all the hype and old enough to understand it might never happen again.

This year is obviously a close second - I think the cut-throat nature of knock out football (qualifiers were just brought in the year before but still retained some of that do or die element) the style of play and the big characters back then edged it ahead of this years triumph.

This year my elation was more for the players and management, what they'd been through on and off the field, how they'd been written off and how they just went about their business, not over-awed by the media darlings in Kerry or Galway.

You were a good bit the better team and now you seem to read in places that Kerry could have won. They could have but it would have really been against the run of the play. Tyrone much the better team in 05.

1991 AI final. I'd love to see wee James in full pomp to see if he was the absolute force of nature my younger self remembers.

Same for me. I was 10 at the time so didn't get a ticket. That image of the hill being covered in red and black flags as the teams paraded around is class. James and Mickey Linden flying in either corner.

As an Armagh man 2002 is special because it was the first, but it wasn't a bolt from the blue like 2024 .  I did think the Ulster Final penalty loss to Donegal would be a real hammer blow on the mental side of things, but I remember coming out of the Westmeath game in the first group game thinking that you wouldn't have knew we'd taken such a boot to the balls a couple of weeks previously.  The tightness of the schedule suited us as well, no time to dwell, we kept relatively injury free and as I alluded to before we may have even stumbled upon our best set up because of the couple of bad injuries that we did suffer.  In the end it all happened so quickly it was a bit surreal, I've watched RTE & BBCNI's coverage a dozen times or more since and with the social media age it was nonstop there for a long time, GRW is still popping up on my ticktok feed.  So, I think 2024 is better, no one game, just the journey.

While it was a poor enough game in terms of skill, the tension (and relief at the final whistle) during and after the 2005 semi final v Armagh was hard to beat

Would agree with that, Benny. I never, ever thought that 2002 could be surpassed, but I believe 2024 did just that, and there are many in Armagh who think likewise.

As for the original, question, for me it would be the Ulster preliminary round replay against Fermanagh in the Athletic Grounds in 1993. Possibly the most unbelievable match I was ever at. An 'I was there...' moment, or more pertinently, an 'I was there and stayed to the end...' moment.

That was game two of a six game odyssey that would see us not even get to a provincial final, whilst Derry would play five matches and win Sam. What a Summer that was. Great memories of following that Armagh team.

Houli scored some class goals in that early 90s period.

Definitely, a contender for a memorable game. Some good play (if bad picture quality) here, with good kick passes in front of running men, a defensive error leading to a goal and then the winner. It is the only time that I saw people coming back into a ground.

Bring back club football

Easy.

That great day in 95 when we beat Derry in Clones with the 13 men  :o

Brilliant watching that!

Armagh played 5 games against rubbish and got bt when they played the first quality team they met. Meanwhile Derry played the 91 & 94, 92, 95 & 89/90 All Ireland winners in their 5. Context is always important putting forward an argument.

Who is putting forward an argument, other than that the games were entertaining and that there were a lot of them? I don't think that anyone proposed that Armagh were better than Derry in 1993. However we did beat Tyrone in a replay and most of that Tyrone team were beaten by a point in an AI final 2 years later, we then drew with the reigning AI champions and were beaten in a replay. Not really rubbish.
