Quote from: Tintin84 on July 20, 2025, 11:39:09 AMDoes anyone know where you can see the championship tables so far for the hurling championship. Also after group stage what way does it work!?? Thanks.

The senior hurling championship tables are not showing up on the Laois GAA website for some reason. Anyone know who to contact?
I would presume the top team in each group goes to the semis with the next two playing off in a quarter final?

I'd say the Laois GAA website is set-up to update tables automatically. The criss-cross format probably throws it.

It's easy enough piece it together so far anyway. The picture will be a little clearer after the CB-BK match. (Hope young Brennan is OK.)

I think I'm right in saying after the criss-cross group games, the quarter and semi-finals are all from the same group.

If the user clicks on any of the results from the SHC, it will lead to the tables. It's a bit clunky but it works.

See that now. When you click the tables tab they don't show up.
Camross could be under a bit of pressure to progress. One point from two games they would have expected to win.

The infidel in exile

I don't know what the Abbeyleix coaching team were thinking by moving Fionan Mahony at full forward. After 23 minutes, Castletown were totally dominating the Midfield and half forward line. Abbeyleix left Mahoney wasted inside, qhen he is at his best between half back and Midfield. Castletown had 6 different scorers from play.

I Mahoney was I his natural position, he would have put in his usual hard working shift, like the league final against B/K, IF HE is not back there in the last three games, Abbeyleix won't reach the quarter finals, as R/E, B/K AND CAMROSS, all have decent half forward lines, and R/E will be though to beat

Are they doing any programmes for the games ?

Ogie

Have Camross got themselves a new Manager ?

Programmes all online. Hard copies available for free as well if you ask.
I think online is the way to go given teams pay them so little heed now anyway.

I haven't heard anything on Camross but I'd be surprised if there was a massive panic just yet; I'd still fully back them to get out of the group.

Laois Rising

With the way the groups are now played, Camross are in serious bother. They more than likely will need to win their three remaining games to finish in the top 3. I expect the Harps to beat Rosenallis and Ballinakill. Rathdowney-Errill can afford a lose a game and still finish ahead of Camross and Borris-Kilcotton have their game against Clough-Ballacolla already played. B-K are the team most likely to slip up and drop points but Camross still have C-B to play and if they lose that the most points they can finish on is 5 points. That would mean B-K would only need to win 2 of three games against Abbeyleix, Rosenallis and Portlaoise which they are capable of doing. So far this system has worked very well as it looks like all of the teams will be playing for something right to the final game.

Verbal

Well that was a much better round of games in terms of excitement than what I predicted. Standard still dreadfully low.

Fair play to Rosenallis and Portlaoise.
Abbeyleix very poor. To the poster questioning the free count- 90% of them were obvious as day frees.

Camross could be in bother. If there was no rebound there from the Portlaoise game why do we think there will be one the next day v Clough Ballacolla?
CB themselves were no no great shakes v Borris Kilcotton, though I only saw that one on Clubber.

10 teams is too many, but the format might actually be working well. Suppose we better hold off judgement on that.

Laois man

Verbal you say 90%of them were frees so the other 10% weren't. Aleix were poor but Ctown were good at times.

Verbal

No, I said 90% were obvious as day frees.
10% of them from the stand you could say were debatable.
I think that will always be the case for all teams?

If they watched it back im sure they'd see some of the ridiculous fouling.

Laois man

Next round is vital camross v Cbolla. Ctown v Rosenallis. Plaois v borris kcotton I could be wrong on that.

Laois Rising

The format of 10 teams is working due to the poor form of the suppose "top teams". It definitely isn't a case of the weaker teams having developed and gone up a level or two to compete. Hopefully come the knock out stages standards will rise as the quality hasn't been hectic- granted the unexpected shocks and closeness of games last weekend did add some spectacle and interest.

Laois man

Big weekend ahead again in the senior Cship a lost for some teams will see them struggle to qualify. Cbolla v camross the stand out fixture. Minor Cship third round tonight should have a fair idea where teams stand after this park ratheniska and the harps I hear the top teams so far plus camross.
