Exceptional performance from the minors today. Well done to all the players and management. Nothing to fear against Wexford.

Laois 7-23 Offaly 0-13 is some scoreline alright, are Offaly that poor or does this laois team genuine challengers for silverware? I'd assume the latter but did not see them play.

Unfortunately could not make the game today owing to a family celebration, but did manage to watch from 5mins onwards on Clubber. Laois were ferocious in attack and were full value for their win. I think it would be fair to say the Offaly chaps dropped the heads after the third goal which is understandable - they are still chaps! However, Laois were simply sublime all over the field with our full forwards in particularly devastating form.
Laois leading by 20 points at half time must be a record for a Laois hurling team? If so, it's unreal for just 30 minutes. The team has a solid look about them and if they approach every game like they did today they will give the top sides plenty of food for thought. Best wishes to the team as they progress to meet Wexford next.

I was in at the match and it's not often we see such a result. Laois are a big physical team with the fullback being a particular specimen, but they are great hurlers with their speed and first touch being very good. The fourth goal (I think) was a super example with corner forward skinning his man and then a long hand pass out where the full forward flicked it up and buried it without taking it in the hand. The backs are strong and all good hurlers and the use of the ball was brilliant. Heads up ball to hand or into space for forwards to run onto. I don't know how good Offaly are but that's a great boost for these Laois lads

Super wins for minor and u-20 hurlers this weekend. Great to see it, well done to all involved.

Laois man

2 great wins over the weekend and minor and u20 grade. Minors have wexford sat in portlaoise a very beatable wexford team the have a very good full forward I think O Brien is his name he hit about 1.10 sat out of 1.14 v galway. U20 have kilkenny at home wed week tough one but nice to be there.

Great Weekend for Laois & great to see Portlaoise/Clonad & Ratheniska Timahoe lads involved. A bit more work in the schools to support those who work so hard in these Clubs would really boost Laois hurling. Is there a dedicated Games Development officer for these clubs & if not could they come together to pay for one?

All da doom n gloom merchants a bit quiter the past week or so. Never as bad as ye think, never as good as we want. But good men n dedicated players will take us long way. Drive on as chedd wud say

Well done to the U20s today - didn't look too good at half-time after Wexford pegged back lead from 7 points to 1 point.

It would appear from the Leinster GAA website that Laois will face Galway in semi-final on Wed 14-May - venue TBC.

No I believe kilkenny at home wed week

Yes u-20 semi finals is Weds 14th, Laois V Kilkenny and Galway V Dublin.

Minors play Wexford this Saturday with the winners facing Galway in the semi final 7 days later.

Exciting times for both sides. 🤞

SCFC

Two brilliant results at the weekend! The minors in particular look an excellent team. Looks a tough draw for the u20s but home advantage is a boost. Hope a big crowd turn up to support both teams.

Best year for underage hurling for quite a while. Great to see. Hopefully a Leinster final appearance in either u17 or u20! And if the seniors could win the Joe Mc too, that'd be a decent year.

Looking at the fixtures for this weekend:
Saturday Minor Hurlers V Wexford at 12pm in Portlaoise
Saturday Senior Footballers V Waterford at 3pm in Portlaoise
Sunday Senior Hurlers V Kerry at 4pm in Portlaoise

Is there no joined up thinking? Have all three on back-to-back on Saturday. 12pm or 1pm Minors, 2pm or 3pm Football and 4pm or 5pm Seniors. Make it a day and bring out decent support.

Tyrone V Kerry U20 AI Football Semi-Final is on 2pm on Sunday in Portlaoise. They think more of giving Kerry a double-header than our own supporters. Christ.
